| Just took 2nd in a $8.80 buy-in tourney on pokerstars (#229010632) for $2K! What a great feeling. Wanna thank a bunch of you for your wonderful insight and making me a better player through this forum. This might not belong in this section, but i just wanted the MTT crowd to hear about my finish. I played well, REAL well, and i've definately transformed my game over the past 2 weeks (i won a $4.40 180 man 3 days ago). Sorry i didnt post for people to rail while i was at FT but i thought that i'd get nervous haha.........here's to future final tables!! |

Sry Bigpaired, i'll post something like this in "stories" next time.
This is a hand from this tournament that i wanted to review with some of you. Even tho i lost the hand, i was extremely proud of how i played it. This is a prime example of the type of player that i have changed into over just the past couple of weeks.
I felt like i was playing the hand pretty standard. Even though i smashed my straight on the turn, I thought that it was REALLY weird that he bet into me instead of checking. "J9" popped into my head immediately and even tho J9 would be the only hand that could beat me (on the turn), i felt like i just needed to get to the showdown asap. I felt like the pot was big enoguh already and there was no need to put my tourney life on the line. I DEF shove this on the turn if i played this tourney a month ago, but ive realized that i need to trust my reads more. If i shove this, im out of the tourney and my 2nd place finish doesnt happen. I'm putting a lot more trust in my post-flop play. Instead of trying to be over-aggressive pre-flop with good hands, im slowing down a little and making sure i actually hit a hand before i get crazy with my chips. I used to 3-bet with AK constantly....now, depending on my opponent, read, and position, i may slow down and flat to see a flop. I'm becoming very difficult to felt, and its boosting my confidence big time. To be short-stacked after this hand, but to come back and place 2nd was HUGE. Just goes to show, all u need is a chip and a chair.....

| I'd probably fold it pre in your position and with your amount of chips but after that, pretty standard sequence just a bad result. |

Meh, I'd be okay with playing A9 here or not, I think it really depends on table dyamics. Beyond that nh. |
