I have been trying to decide on which to get for like a half a year or so.

I hear PT3 is better for tournaments and HEM is better for cash games
But I play many different types of games, cash and tournament to keep it fresh.

I play mainly nl-holdem cash games, nl-holdem 27-90 man SNG's, 9 man pot limit omaha SNG's, pot limit omaha hi/lo cash games, large field MTT's, razz cash games and mixed games tournaments, and occasionally 9 man nl-holdem SNG's

I have turned $100 into approximately $1400 during this time playing mainly low and micro stakes games with occasional stabs at higher games. I have been spending a lot of time at stoxpoker and the FTP academy which have been extremely helpful to my different games.

To move up, and compete, I probably should get one of these. right? and which should I get?

thanks all

you should deffo get one of these. which one doesn't really matter imo.

just be aware that your omaha cames cannot be tracked (i know that as i fact for PT3, which i am using. I THINK that might also apply to HEM, not sure though. maybe someone who uses HEM can this confirm or not)

so if it is just an occational game here and there that is different to holdem, you should be fine with one of these trackers.
otherswise you might have to consider getting PT for Omaha or something comparible as well.

I have heard that you can get HEM much cheaper over stox. so maybe that's what you would want to try

I know that PT3 could maybe do the same, but the support at HEM is outstanding and after the help they gave me it wouldn't be fair if i didn't give them a word. When i was setting up and it wouldn;t start one time, on both occasions i set up a team veiwing sessions with support and they sorted it all out within about 10 minutes. It was fozzy who does the poker mods who was helping me and he even sent me some new tables and backgrounds, when he saw that i was already using his cards.

PT3 support kept emailing me telling me what to do when i clearly couldn't do it, so i vote HEM. The difference in the actual software is minimal i'd imagine, but HEM can be purchased using money from your FT bankroll, and you can buy a cheaper version for 10c/25c and lower, then upgrade to the full version when your ready, i think the 25c and lower version has all the same features as the bigger one just its only able to be used on those lower games, ideal for people who dont want to spend loads, but can still spend that little bit extra if they want to move up.

Can't be done. Both FT and PS recently stopped allowing programs/services to be paid for from within your online account.

I have used them both quite a bit and I think HEM has a much smaller learning curve for a newbie. I just find that HEM has an easier to navigate GUI, an easier to understand help system with detailed guides on how to check your game for leaks, and can generally report the same things as PT3 but easier.

Now PT3 may have an edge when it comes to custom reporting. IF you are into building your own queries and reports, PT3 will let you do this and they did a pretty good job with it. You can in HEM as well, but its more like filters you can apply, and to me seems more restrictive as to what you can do. But this is getting picky, HEM can show you everything most people want to see.

I would say HEM is a bit less confusing, easier to use overall, but can lack some reporting detail that may or may not matter to you. PT3 is slightly more advanced, has a higher learning curve but has more powerful reporting capabilities.

I tend to lean towards HEM when recommending a tracking program to my friends.
