Just got back from the dentist.....
Here is something to think about when contemplating the vote regarding health care reform in the United States:
I just had three root canals and a cleaning - total cost $22. Total time spent: 40 minutes. Waiting time: 5 minutes. |

I have never had a root canal.
Total cost-$0
Total wait-0
In your case I can understand, as a toothbrush in Japan cost about 25,000 yen. It is cost effective for you to let your teeth rot.
Oh, my total cost for a cleaning is-
$0
through my dental insurance.

Don't make a stupid move, again, Alex.
You can dish out lies but you can't take the truth.
You don't find me whining to the powers that be about pictures.
Trust me......let it happen again, slander me with unsubstantiated nonsense and you won't have a family be your excuse for whining.
I seriously suggest you go back and edit your comments regarding me. |

Why would I want a prize from a bunch of European socialist elite wimps?
Why would I care what some collegiate, brainwashed, Obama sycophant thinks?

The mother who brought down the Fort Hood killer
Chris Ayres in Fort Hood, Texas
A police officer and mother of one was hailed a heroine yesterday after it emerged that she almost single handedly ended the massacre at America’s biggest military base.
Kimberly Munley does not look as if she would be much of a match for a heavily armed US soldier on a murderous rampage. But the slightly built 34-year-old civilian officer was first on the scene after Major Nidal Malik Hasan began firing on comrades at Ford Hood in Texas as they prepared to deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq. The 39-year-old psychologist killed 13 and left 31 others with serious injuries.
On Thursday afternoon Ms Munley was doing her usual job of directing traffic on the sprawling base. By chance, she and her partner happened to walk past the Soldiers’ Readiness Processing Centre soon after Major Hasan — armed with two handguns — cornered his fellow soldiers. Soldiers who witnessed the rampage described the gunfire as continuous, methodical and well aimed.
Ms Munley succeeded in bringing him down by shooting him four times, even after being hit by a bullet that passed through both her legs, according to witnesses.
Her swift reaction and courage were being praised last night for preventing many more deaths.
“It was an amazing and aggressive performance by this police officer,” said Lieutenant-General Robert Cone, Fort Hood’s commanding officer. “The critical factor here was her quick response to the situation.”
President Obama led the nation’s mourning yesterday and will visit Fort Hood for a memorial service in the coming days. He ordered all flags at the White House and other federal buildings to be flown at half mast until Veterans Day on November 11. But he urged Americans against “jumping to conclusions” about the killer’s motives.
Major Hasan, a Muslim and an expert in combat stress, survived the shooting and is now being treated in a nearby hospital, under armed guard.
It emerged yesterday that he was opposed to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and had tried to buy his way out of the army rather than being deployed overseas. The request was turned down.
He had shouted the Arabic phrase Allahu akbar (God is greatest) before opening fire, witnesses said.
Ms Munley, the mother of a three-year-old girl, is in a stable condition, with injuries to the upper leg and thigh. General Cone said her fearless response to the gunman had saved countless lives. Trained in active-response tactics, she rushed into the building where he was shooting, and confronted him directly. Officials confirmed that she had continued firing even after being hit.
Those who treated the police officer said that her first request after being taken to hospital was to call her colleagues and friends to let them know she was OK — and to find out about casualty numbers.
Her stepmother, Wanda Barbour, said Ms Munley was an outstanding police officer. “She’s concerned about all the people who’ve lost their lives,” she said. “We’re just real proud of her and so grateful and thankful to the Lord that she’s going to be okay.”
General Cone said that Ms Munley’s actions demonstrated that an aggressive response to a mass-shooting can save lives. “She walked up and engaged him,” he said. |
An average American who responded to the call of her life with great courage.
That's someone to look up to, not some Ivy league elite, community organizing, lying politician.
Tell you what "all in drawing dead,"(LOL)
Get a job, raise a family, pay a mortgage/car payment/utilities/save for kids college/IRA and all the other expenses incurred by a family, and then tell me what a great thing it is for the govt to take more and more from us.
Its easy for college kids and people who have nothing, like mr blsht, to back big govt expansion, they will be the beneficiaries of that govt's seizures.

Here is someone who is saying it's on when the only thing they have is off, and that could be the only thing suggesting to them something is on.
Figure that one out.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
And this is why this thread is what it is.
For what this thread SHOULD be about:
Health care is dead in the Senate because of Joe Lieberman.
And that's that.
Here is my solution to health care woes in the United States: My family keeps a roundtrip to Hello Kitty Land on hand for use when necessary and that nation welcomes us with open arms.
For those in the States with passports and wanting cheaper, possibly better, medical attention, Get Your Tour On and check out these options:
http://www.allmedicaltourism.com/
If health care in the United States is indeed 1/6th of the economy, there is a very good reason for that: It's Effin' Expensive!
If pencils cost $1,000,000 each, I guess there would be reason to protect the pencil industry because it would be such a huge chunk of the important US economy. But pencils don't need to be so expensive, and neither does health care.
It isn't that it needs a solution - it just never had to be as expensive as it was.
Growth is important. 15 years ago, I had some internet bills in Japan that were over $1000 a month. Now, it is less than ten dollars a month and faster, better and cheaper than the far majority of the planet, including the USA.
In fact, today, in most of Japan, internet service is free because of a community sense of....here comes that word many find so unAmerican:
S H A R I N G
Now, what was it that kept medical care in the US from following the same economical path?
Uhm, government involvement? Or was it just greed?
Again, have a look at this link: http://www.allmedicaltourism.com/
Compare what ails you and don't come screaming when the cost of what ails you Stateside increases.
There is no reason for it. It makes no sense to support it. |

Jugs, you need to really get a grasp on that it was Big Government Expansion that did in the US health care system.
Televisions, health care, automobiles and next airlines.
The only thing that forced people to keep accepting US health care was government involvement allowing the pharmaceutical companies the "right" to keep United States citizens from purchasing the same drugs on a global pricing.

Spanish bombs - off the Costa Rica,
I'm flying in on a DC 10 tonight!
I'm anxious to get back in the States. I want to get a first hand dose of this so-called government intrusion.
My house is paid for, and unbelievably in demand as a sought after piece of property. The car is paid for, and unbelievably a Chevrolet.
And I have room for a gazillion X-boxes! And quite happy to be spared the burden of having even one circle of death to worry about. |

Here feihua, someone has a message for you.

The Pelosi Bill Was Rammed Through on Saturday, But Sunday’s Coming
We’ve got to hold on to hope, and we’ve got to fight hard because Congressional action tonight just put America on a path toward an unrecognizable country.
The same government leaders that got us into the mortgage business and the car business are now getting us into the health care business.
Despite Americans’ decisive message last Tuesday that they reject the troubling path this country has been taking, Speaker Pelosi has broken her own promises of transparency to ram a health “care” bill through the House of Representatives just before midnight. Why did she push the 2,000 page bill this weekend? Was she perhaps afraid to give her peers and the constituents for whom she works the chance to actually read this monstrous bill carefully, if at all? Was she concerned that Americans might really digest the details of a bill that the Wall Street Journal has called “the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced”?
This out-of-control bureaucratic mess will be disastrous for our economy, our small businesses, and our personal liberty. It will slam businesses at a time when we are at double-digit unemployment rates – the highest we’ve seen in a quarter of a century. This massive new bureaucracy will cost us and our children money we don’t have. It will rob Americans of more of our freedom and further hamper the free market.
Make no mistake: we’re on course to have government commandeer one-sixth of our economy. The people who gave us Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac now want to run our health care. Think about that.
All of us who value the sanctity of life are grateful for the success of the pro-life majority in the House this evening in its battle against federal funding of abortion in this bill, but it’s ironic because we were promised that abortion wasn’t covered in the bill to begin with. Our healthy distrust of these government leaders made us look deeper into the bill because unfortunately we knew better than to trust what they were saying. The victory tonight to amend the bill and eliminate that federal funding for abortion was great – because abortion is not health care. Now we can only hope that Rep. Stupak’s amendment will hold in the final bill, though the Democratic leadership has already refused to promise that it won’t be scrapped later.
We had been told there were no “death panels” in the bill either. But look closely at the provision mandating bureaucratic panels that will be calling the shots regarding who will receive government health care.
Look closely at provisions addressing illegal aliens’ health care coverage too.
Those of us who love freedom and believe in open and transparent government can only be dismayed by midnight action on a Saturday. Speaker Pelosi’s promise that Americans would have 72 hours to read the final bill before the vote was just another one of the D.C. establishment’s too-common political ploys. It’s broken promises like this that turn people off to politics and leave them disillusioned about the future of their country.
But despite this late-night maneuvering, many of us were paying close attention tonight. We’ll keep paying close attention. We need to let our legislators in Washington know that they still represent us, and that the majority of Americans are not in favor of the “reform” they are pushing. After all, this is still a country “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” We will make our voices heard. It’s on to the Senate now. Our legislators can listen now, or they can hear us in 2010. It’s their choice.
- Sarah Palin
