A friend of mine told me you can play poker for free in the pub with this league called 'live pub poker league' or lppl.
Does anyone know if it's any good, I'm wondering if it's like online play chips?
I did hear one of their players made the final table in the NL $1500 at the WSOP this year... |

Well I know you have to play over two months to make an area final and you have to do well in several finals to reach a national final. So it's endless frerolls.
Is it worthwhile spending the time just for live experience?
Or would you just concentrate on real poker? |

| If it's anything like freeroll poker leagues in the US they're hella soft. I've only played 3 times in any of the ones around here but those three times I finished 1st/42, 2nd/42 (same night as the 1st), and 3rd/97 (in a regional, won an ipod wheeeee) |

No they're not soft games from what I hear.
Many of the players (ok some, the serious ones) play online and in casinos and make a tidy profit.
What I'm asking is... seen as you encounter planty of terrible players in the casino is it worth getting some practice in that could well win you a trip to Vegas.
There's about 72 in an area final. Take it down and you go to the WSOP 2010. |
