It's the very first hand in a $10 KO tourney... You are a decent player that usually doesn't even get involved in pots early in mtt's because of all the fish that play as if they wanna bust out. But this first hand your dealt happens to be AA.. You are in late position and you see player after player limp in. so when it's your turn you got a decision.. You know that a standard raise will get you 5 callers which u dont want.. I figured i'd take the pot down right away instead, simply cause i dont wanna get involved in pots early.. we all started with 1500 chips, so i raised it to 500. now i thought no one without a very good hand would be able to call. of course i was wrong.
i got 3 callers.. 3... It's so ridicules, i knew before the flop even came that my aces would never hold. The flop is Jc 6c 2h.. I was gonna push on most flops but definitly on this one. I figured that no one would have JJ since they all limp/called my raise. So i thought i only had to be afraid of 66 or 22 or the flush draw. It's a shove for me one folds and the other 2 calls.. Now ofc one had KT of clubs and the other had J6.. Turn card is another 6 and river was a 5 or smth (didn't pay any attention anymore since the bs that was going on).

Now my question is.. Is there anyone here that has a better suggestion on how to play the hand then what i did ? or this would happen to absolute everyone?

The guy who called that raise with J6 makes u wonder if they got some kinda flashing light beside their cards that goes off when their about to hit a miracle with their crap.

I would probably push it AI Preflop, cause im so afraid of all these limp-ins. But yeah that really sucks.

I'm actually not opposed to just shoving preflop, especially in KOs where people make lighter-than-usual calls to score a KO bonus. What they fail to realize is that you need 7 to get your buy-in back, so it's really not worth it if you think about it. But those players don't, so its all good.

Its the same thing at every sitngo you play at this lvl... I will just move all in preflop. These rookis will sometimes call you with KJ or QJ - but its pretty safe...
Sometimes, i increase my std preflop raise about six times the BB instead of three just to get these limbers of my back..

There's your problem. If you don't want all the calls, don't play the KO tournaments

id pot raise it normally....raisin to 500 commits u to the pot u might as well move allin....i guess it depends on how many ppl limp but normally i do not like the allin move wen the pot is so small preflop. i dnt no y ppl r afraid of seein flops. again i guess i culd give u a better answer if i knew how many ppl limped in front of u.

Shove pre because it's the first hand and people will call you.

But the way you talk you sound like you don't want anyone to call. If KT and J6 call your aces you should be fist pumping. If they suck out on you- then a new tournament is opening soon.
If you don't want callers on your aces you need to reevaluate your game plan.

Get into the habit of shoving during the first level with AA, KK, QQ AK when you have multiple limpers in these low buyin tourneys. Then smile as you get called by 1 or 2 players and the cards are dealt.

Usuaully shoving the AA on the first hand convinces everyone that you don't have AA... idiots will look for any reason to call you with a wide variety of crap. If you get all the money in preflop with AA, you can never be upset of what happens next.

This has to be a level.

1) Early in MTTs it's pretty standard for a good player to see alot of flops in position BECAUSE there are alot of donks.
2) If you have AA you WANT the donks to call not the other away around.
3) When you raise to 500 and get 3 callers you should be fist pumping not getting mad.

OP you are a terrible player and should not blame your idiocy on other 'bad players'.

I usually do a backflip followed by a shoryuken uppercut style fist pump through my ceiling.

Yeah, then I tend to go with the Blanka style electricity face when I lose.

OP seems like one of those players that gets JJ in MP and goes "dam......" instead of "f*ck yea......."
