I typically play when she's not around and when she is I limit it. However, me playing poker was established from the beginning...that's always helpful, so it hasn't been an issue. I can see how it might be tough to be with someone who doesn't play and then slowly evolves into an online poker playing and forum posting maniac. The latter probably getting you in more trouble. Cool

Hubby and I both play, no problems there. He even cooks and brings me my meals at the computer.

Playing cash as opposed to MTT or SnGs helps because you can sitout quickly and be there for a discussion or a to help the kids with homework ...

I also find that younger significant others don't yet understand the concept of giving space and can be pests about anything that does not involve them. BTDT.

How has poker effected my relationships? Hm before the law(that toughen the cashing out part for USA people) I was pretty good I played play chips when I was younger over 8 - 9 years ago on PS. Always played texas hold em at partys in Highschool and always won 1st. People eventually stopped playing against me. I watched so much poker.. I read no books I read nothing about the percents and the odds of this and that. I just know what I know. My ultimate goal in life is a 1 time shot at WSOP. But anyways my relationships never really got hurt by poker because (I was cool in high school ) not the a+ kid but the clown of the school. Anyways I played poker usually at max each day. And depending on what jobs I was doing Id maybe not have time for each day.. Anyways as I got older my newest gf she didn't like me at the internet all the time.. but we also didn't have cable or anything in the apartment at the time anyways.. So very bored.. SO I downloaded PS and FTP and played play money for while..eventually I told her to put some money on a site (50 bucks or whatever minumum was at PS)... and Id see if we win something.. with in the 1st week got it up to 300 bucks. PLaying 3 dollar sit n goes.. Then moved up to 5 and 10 dollar sit n goes. Anyways she liked that but then the damn law came and bust my chance of making big(because I dont want to be caught by stuipid gov) so I cashed out and stopped playing real money. Even tho Id love to play again but not until law changes.. but anyways I got my new gf to play poker and she plays just as much... As we dont fight about who is playing because when shes playing.. Most the time Iam watching and assisting calls that she makes...Like people just plain bidding like dorks.. anyways poker is good for our relationship and always will be!

I just thought I would give you an update... Decided to leave the computer alone for the night and not play any poker... and what do you think happen??? I sat in bed and watched tv. for about an hour before falling asleep... and what was my wife doing.... you guessed it... playing on her computer... so you tell me what it matters if I'm online playing poker or sitting watching tv. if she is going to be on her computer either way??? LMAO

My last ex couldn't care less. In fact she encouraged it.
She probably would have cared more, if she wasn't always riding on some black guys dick.
The lesson: Never date a chick that's dated a black guy.
