I think pre is 100% standard. What are the benefits to raising rather than flatting MP's bet OTF? How do you react to UTG's check raise? Smooth call, 3-bet small, or shove like I did?

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) - Converter Tool from

SB ($22)
Hero (BB) ($196.10)
UTG ($162.05)
MP ($90.50)
CO ($57.30)
Button ($115.65)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4, 4
UTG bets $3.50, MP calls $3.50, CO calls $3.50, Button calls $3.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $2.50

Flop: ($18) 7, 9, 4 (5 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP bets $14, CO calls $14, 1 fold, Hero calls $14, UTG raises to $48, 1 fold, CO calls $34, Hero raises to $192.60 (All-In)

I think if you raise you'll get out the straight draws, you don't want someone in there w/ some gutter ball long shot. Also, a raise when it gets to you might lose an over pair which imo you'd want to stick around til the turn, then get it in. If you're beat hey, tough luck, but you're looking to get the most out of your hand. Smooth calling, seeing what happens OTT, then shoving over top of any bets will probably give you max value imo.

UTG's raise, I'm putting him on an over pair and maybe a set a small % of the time. Safe play would be to let him know he is beat and 3-bet or shove like you did. If you want to go for max value, smooth call, and check that bad boy all the way down and let him barrel away and shove the river.

Yeah, I think flatting on the flop is a good idea. Because the UTG raised pf you can easily put him on an over pair, he could also be spazzing with AK, but I wouldn't worry about any gut shots or straight draws since there was a raise pf, bet and check raise on the flop. Anyone with a straight draw could get away then. There aren't a whole lot of cards that come OTT that would warrant you folding the hand, so you hope anyone with A9 or K9 can make a better hand if their second card comes.

Well UTG folded pretty quickly and CO called off his last $20 or so and showed T8. My hand held and after a Q turned, UTG started whining after a few hands that he folded QQ which I seriously doubt.
