Do the people that play multi-tables use more than one computer? I have tried to play four tables and I keep folding the wrong table and raising the wrong one. Is this vbecause I am just a novice or do I need more computers?
Thanks

[x] Novice
[ ] wrong computer

I multitable and just use one computer and 1 screen where i can fit 6 tables. I also sometimes make the right choice at the wrong table.

You need to get used to it, that's all.

big monitor and/or multi-monitors helps if things get to tiny. get used to 2 then 3 before trying 4.

I personally use dual monitors which makes it really easy.

I don't think you can log in to your account on two machines at the same time.

I resize the tables to fit them so I can easily navigate between them. Saying that I only play a maximum of 3 at once, so the potential problem of clicking in the wrong places doesn't affect me that much.

Change your screen resolution, then after opening 4 tables click "TILE". If you wanna comfortably see 6 or more, get a 2nd monitor (and a video card that allows that, ldo)

I just have adn ekstra monitor... It can be done very cheaply due to the fact that almost all videocards have an ekstra output, so if you have one computer, just get an ekstra screen.

OP obviously a multi-accounter. Use the tile feature and you shouldn't have any trouble. I'm a noob on computers and can 6 table on just my main monitor fairly easily by tiling them.

If you want to SERIOUSLY multi-table with only one monitor, here's what you do.
1)Get a program like Table Ninja that will automatically buy in to tournaments that you want to be in and automatically close lobbies for you as well.
2) Make sue you have "Display Table on Action" checked under options in the main lobby of FT.
3) Once you have your second table up, tile tables. This will give you 2 tables that take up a quarter of the screen each.
4) Now, move one table directly on top of the other table.
5) When 3rd table starts, move it directly on top of the other 2. Continue with 4th,5th,6th etc.

Whatever table you are playing will pop to the front of the other tables. I have been able to multi-table the max amount this way. The downside of multitabling is that postflop play becomes much more difficult. Also, you need to have solid starting ranges and a decent understanding of ICM. I usually only do this when I am in the mood for MTing $3 45-seater Super Turbos. The lack of post flop play in Super Turbos make them easier to multi table. In addition, with the 45 seaters, you won't be short handed for a while. I know many people hate Super Turbos, but the $3 45 seaters are actually very +EV if you are able to multi table them. Also, I would recommend having AT LEAST a $350 bankroll to MT the lowest 45 seater super turbos.

I struggle to play more than 4 tables. 6 I can understand for people who are just generally good at it.

But when i see my opponents who are playing 12 tables etc - impossible to play those consistently. Surely just a case of playing ABC basic TAG poker - it shows in their play as well. Suppose playing that many tables not much skill really comes into it, just volume to increase your hourly rate. Hoe the heck you develop reads on players with 12 i dunno.....you must just treat them as standard situations.

Kind of depends. 12 tables of ring games (fully loaded) would be a nightmare imo. I know a couple of people who 24 table, but just buy in short and play shove/fold. That said, 12 tables of MTTs or SNGs with the right set up really shouldn't be that difficult even for a computer noob (like myself).
