Ok, so I'll post the preflop action and flop and see what you guys make of it. Then I'll post what actually happened and see if it was stupid or not. I would just like a few pointers as my cash game play isn't actually that good.

LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter
UTG: $1.93
UTG+1: $2.18
MP1: $0.89
MP2: $0.98
Hero (CO): $1.23

SB: $0.71
BB: $2.45
Pre-Flop: K A dealt to Hero (CO)
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to $0.07, MP1 folds, MP2 calls $0.07, Hero raises to $0.18, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls $0.11, MP2 calls $0.11

| You definitely need to 3bet bigger pre, probably to the neighborhood of .30, possibly more. As played, I would try to get stacks in as soon as possible, probably leading out for .45 on the flop and either call any raises (if any occur), or shove the turn. There is no way you can fold this. Also, buy in full please. |

| You also need to post what UTG+1 and MP2 do on the flop before your action, otherwise we don't know it you're facing a bet or it's checked to you. Regardless, my answer is going to be bet/raise. |

Thanks for the input. I guess I played it unorthodox then... I was being tight so felt like a trap:

Flop: ($0.57) A 4 K (3 Players)
UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero checks
Turn: ($0.57) 4 (3 Players)
UTG+1 bets $0.32, MP2 folds, Hero raises to $0.70, UTG+1 raises to $1.16, Hero calls $0.35 and is All-In
River: ($2.67) 7 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)
Results: $2.67 Pot ($0.17 Rake)
UTG+1 showed A J (two pair, Aces and Fours) and LOST (-$1.23 NET)
Hero showed K A (two pair, Aces and Kings) and WON $2.50 (+$1.27 NET)
I know that checking with 2 hearts probably wasnt a good idea but I wanted value badly and figured my tightness would mean folds if I just shoved or bet lots OTF. |

| Im more used to tournaments and I'd definitely bet/raise there but I've seen that people dont really consider pot odds at this level so I figured I'd get more value (at more risk) by checking, rather than 3betting pf and then leading on the flop too... |

| If someone isn't willing to continue on this flop it's pretty tough for them to turn or river something they'd be happy with that also wouldn't beat your hand. |

The way I look at it, your pre-flop raise wasn't bad at all. You wouldn't want to chase EVERYBODY away with AK. The flop delivers two top pair, and I would expect at least one other player to have an A. A player with K high would have to be very scared of the the A. You're right, checking was definitely not an option because of the possible flush and straight draw possibilities. The only thing beating you now are trips, unlikely since you have and A and a K and calling your pre-flop raise with 44 would have been dubious at best. So I'd be thinking that I have the best hand at this point, and I'm only worried about getting crushed by a flush.
I realize why you wanted to slow-play, but the flush draw was a little scary and not worth the risk with two opponents. I would have put in a pot-sized raise and see what happens. If one or both calls, I'm still the favorite. If I get raised, I can be fairly sure that they're not on a flush draw and I can re-reraise. If they fold, they fold and I still pick up a decent pot. |

I think a c-bet is expected on the flop. I'm sure UTG +1 isn't going to fold the flop, and it would help to start building the pot, making a call easier on the turn when you push. On the flop you could bet between .28-.38 for value, or bet smaller to induce a bluff from MP2 or a value raise from UTG+1. In either case you could flat a raise on the flop and be ready to push the turn.
You just got lucky that someone with AJ is willing to push on the turn, but I think there was a better way to get your money in. I think it was possible for UTG+1 to eventually get away from the hand, i guess not with his turn bet, he's pretty much committed himself. I would just play the hand more aggressively, but you got all your money in and that's the plan. |

Just deposited $40 though
Also thanks for the input... I won't try to trap in stupid situations like a flush draw again |
