|
|
EDIT: Tournament ID: 118565252
I would like to set up a private tournament for the regular forumers as a sign of my appreciation. On the 14th of November, I have my last exam at University. A 4 year course will be complete and I will officially be a Civil Engineer.
During my time here I have been through one rather large downer in my real life, largely outlined by some vicious rants and flames with certain people. The point is, there are many on here that really dedicated quite a bit of time to talk to me and help me through it. Even if a lot of it really wasn’t what I wanted to hear (thanks Pinky).
That said, I would like to create this tournament as not only a celebration for me graduating, which I am very proud of myself for doing. But also as a thank you to those that have directly and indeed indirectly helped me especially in the last year.
Details
Tournament:
- It will be a double stack NLHE event.
- The buy-in will be $5 + w/e the rake is for a DS tournament. I will be adding some prizes to the pool in bounties and maybe other forms. I welcome others to donate in bounties too (for lulz), I will update the OP to keep track. Let’s remember, this is about having a bit of fun and bounty donations are by no means necessary.
Who can play?
Essentially, the answer is whoever I want to play. Pretty much if you are a semi-regular poster here you are in, even if I don’t really know you much. I am not posting the PW here though as I don’t want a bunch of droolers playing that I don’t even know and getting bounty monies. Once set up, I will notify people via IM or PM who post interest ITT. If you do not get the password, you basically are not welcome so gtfo. Simply post interest ITT and you will recieve the PW by some means. Feel free to PM me for the PW too if you feel I may have missed you.
Date: Sat 28th November. I will set up the tournament nearer the time. I hope 9pm server will be sweet for people. I suggest Strasse sets up a drunky play chips for the same time .
Bounties:
List of bounties on page 9.
I would love any donated bounties to have a reason, just for extra lulz. For example, I put $10 bounty on Chillbot because he once called me a tool.

Many congratulations, dude. So, what are your plans for the future? You sticking around here Down Under? You planning, on heading home? You staying here in Qld? PM if you don't want to post publicly.
Sounds like some fun, dude. Regarding the bounties, do we just pledge to do it and ship after the game?
$10 on Tracy Sanders.
$10 on the chip leader at the first break.
Thanks again.

In answer to Fletches questions in case some others are wondering:
Essentially, I have no concrete plans. I have busted my arse for 4 years to get here, and need a break so that's my intitial priority. I shall be staying here in QLD yes, I move back to the Sunshine Coast in 2 weeks time after my last exam. My Graduation ceremony however is in Brisbane on the 17th Dec.
I have been lucky enough to have had some guidance (and monetary investment) into next years WSOP in Las Vegas. I hope to be able make it there as it's something I've always wanted to do, even before I got into poker. I just love the bright lights . Hopefully make it down to Aussie Millions too in January. I also look forward to being able to increase my online volume in the hope that perhaps I can begin making a little more. My savings shall keep me out of mischief for the near future.
As for the bounties, I guess it would probably be easier to keep the money and ship to the winner after the tournament. Otherwise, you can always ship to me and I will distribute to the winners afterwards. Thanks for the bounty investments fletch!! |

Posting. Congrats on completing your course mate. Hope it all goes well for you.
I will probably lodge a bounty of some sort closer to the date cos I'm not too sure what I'm doing atm. More of a week to week type person.. Will do my best to make it of course. |

Congrats LBS on your hard work.
I would be interested in playing in your tourny. if allowed.
As I'm just starting to really get invovled with the forum after 3+ years as a memeber I really don't know that many people personally so for me to put a bounty on somone doesn't make much since... What I would like to do is add insult to injury for the person who bubbles and put a $5 bounty on the person who bust out just before the bubble. I think this would allow for a little more ribbing for the person who bubbles.
GL w/ your future in the "real world"... |
