Just curious what everybody else does.
Just had a really bad day, with all kinda bad beats, AA and KK getting cracked by weak hands, people catching all kinda rivers to save them, people getting runner runner straights or flushes, etc.....
I could barely keep from destroying my mouse!
So, now I'm sipping on a Gin and Tonic, hoping that will calm me down.
What do you guys do to cure your TILT? |

| What helped me is realizing that we need the stupid players in order to have any success and that the variance that allowed their AQ crack my KK is the same variance I rely on to win in poker. If I don't like it I'd have to find a different game. |

| Simple, don't tilt. Filter out the negative, stay positive about things "they had to suck out to beat you, most likely you're doing something right." Why tilt if you're doing it right? Or you could just quit playing for a little bit, gather yourself then come back and crush souls. |

| I hve spent years perfecting my 'tilt' at the expense of three monitors and numerous mice!...........the best way to not tilt tho is to remember the times 'you' sucked out on a stupid hand and that it happens to even the 'best' of us. |

Ha ha! Yeah. But I gotta admit, sometimes I can at least understand how those people feel.
Like the last SnG I played. I was the short stack with 2 BBs left. So I call the BB with K10 suited. The BB raises, and forces me all in. I call and he shows 46o. And guess what the flop is? 5 7 K, the turn 8, river 2.
(0o0)!
I understand the feeling of people when they see hands like this and go on an all out rant about FTP being rigged. I don't believe it, but hands like that do make you stop and say:
"Really?, come on, seriously?" |

In cash games, I will "sit out" on all tables when the big blind comes around and walk away from the computer if I drop one buy-in from my peak.
Example: buy-in $50 on to 6 tables with a starting bankroll of $2000. Play for 1/2 hour and build bankroll to $2125. Over next 15 min my bankroll hits my stop loss of $2075.(This could be from multiple small losses or just one time getting stacked on one table. Either way it's time to get out of my chair to re-focus)
I will usually come back to my chair to play some more before I get timed out on any tables, but sometimes while I'm up, I'll realise it's time to quit.
I don't always end my sessions with the stop loss. If I'm at my peak bankroll but I'm tired or just had enough I'll quit as well. This keeps me from always ending on a negative.
Using the above strategy has ended my tilt before it can ever really start. |

Punch a Kitten.
Take a few deep breaths, walk away if you need to.
Review the hands that you played, the way that you played them, and the actual odds on each of the streets. Ask yourself why you tilt and what kind of tilt are you on. |
