I'd posted in one of the "FTP Answers" threads on 2+2 asking about porting the client to mobile platforms now that they're using QT. Unfortunately:
| FTP Doug wrote: |
2. now that the client is using the QT library, could you take advantage of the cross-platform nature of the library and port the client to smartphones and create a native Linux client?
- This isn't likely any time soon, but we certainly kept things like that in mind when choosing QT as the base for the client. |

I dread to think about how this will affect my sanity once it's released. I'll be playing poker while driving my car, while having dinner, waiting in queues at the post office, in the middle of conversations, meetings, interviews |

Time and time again players don't show up for freerolls. Once I was seated at a table at the start of a tourney and I was the only person actually to show up.
I just watched everyone fold over and over again until I had accumulated a nice little stack. On the other hand, I had no chance of doubling up or even winning a significant amount of chips. It was boring and frustrating.
I think there should be a rule, say for instance you fold the 1st 10 hands, it will be assumed that you are not seated. Alternatively FT could apply a time limit. For instance if you haven't played a hand at the start of a tourney within 15-20 minutes it will be assumed that you are not actually seated at the table. You would then forfeit your seat and the next person on the waiting list takes your seat instead.
Anyone agree or have a better idea? |

IF and when a mobile poker client comes out, PLEASE PLEASE do not make it proprietary to one network or a single phone model.
I hate apps coming out and only on the i-this or e-that
It will not help me convert my cell carrier or buy a certain phone.
The most success stories from the software community allow it to be played on a wide variety of systems. i.e. FireFox, multi-platform games, ect
it should be light, tight and ready to roll. |

Just to beat a dead horse, "Where's my mobile client?!?"
Seriously. My new phone has an 800x480 touch screen and full keyboard with dedicated number keys. I have unlimited 3G data access (okay, really 5 gigs). Gimmie a WinMo client. Please. |

Hi,
FTP do not support 3g connections either. Even though I use 3g through a laptop and login into ftp client there are so many issues. I use a nokia 6700 which has the fastest 3g modem around if network operators allowed its max speed of HSDPA 10Mbps (MBpS/mBPs/MBs or watever it is)

p.s. Still want a mobile client though and proper 3g support not everyone has fast connections is this not discrimination by FTP against me in someway.Got me thinking now £££$$$ are there servers in europe???? |

I hope we're not flogging a dead horse as I assume the whole point of this thread is to get people on here saying, "Where's my mobile client?!?" Until they actually think, "maybe we should do something about it." Although I am slightly disheartened by the fact this thread was opened in 2007.
Perhaps we should open a thread in 2+2 that might get a bit more attention.
Anyway........ Where's my mobile client? |

Perhaps I don't quite understand this but all I use for my account is 3g and it work's perfectly, even when I go over my cap and it gets slowed down significantly. In Australia but, may make a difference but I doubt it as our broadband speeds are legendarily terrible. |
