Online Poker Forum - why am I so bad at all-ins?

Been playing about 2 years, just small stake sng's. It seems like whenever I make a move I almost always lose. Going all-in is the 'nuclear option' of trying to scare off opponents, though hoping they think I'm bluffing and call with nothing, or less than I hold.
for the 2 years I've been playing I've moaned about my luck, but I must be doing something wrong because the stats don't lie
Last 5 games or so I've gone out calling
AK
after the turn to
AJ
Both of us were on a flush draw but a J on the river lost it.

pair of Q's with J kicker after the flop but s/he calls Q4 and a 4 on the turn lost it

Pair of K's after flop with J kicker but s/he calls with AT and hits A on turn

Pocket A's, T7H and 4c on flop. S/he calls with A7 and 7 on turn lost it.

small blind all-ins me. I have A4 versus 67 and 7 on turn lost it.

I knew they were aggresive players and was hoping to pick up easy chips, but each time I have gone out. This is the story of 2 years though. Win some, place some but generally lose, and mostly like these scenarios.

This is not a hard luck story, I want to know what I have to do to start winning in these situations, because I am sure they should be giving me big payouts.

Seriously though (or more seriously), I have finished 2nd in the Sunday 750G qualifier four times this week, each time losing to a suckout after an allin, with some of the calls just moronic and 50 to 1 shots. It has been a bit disheartening considering that my reading, with a few exceptions, has never been better. Hey, maybe I did something horrible in a current life.

ive been on this site for quite a while now, and ive never won anything major, i feel im just wasting my time basically because with the amount of idiots that are signing up nowadays its becoming unbearable to play, because you get these idiots that will chase u right down to the river and get lucky.

i know this is gonna sound horrible but most times i wished that these morons would get a terminal illness and die, because thats how it makes u feel, and most players do feel the same, they just dont admit it. mainly the ones with the super egos

Simple rule for me -- Am I fairly certain that the ALLIN will get the call I WANT or the fold I WANT. If you don't know which one you want or are not certain how much you want it, then you should not do it. Period.

It sounds like you're calling good hands that simply didn't hold up. I like sng's myself. One thing you must do is to keep things in perspective. Five bad beats by loose players (don't you hate that) does not mean, necessarily, that you're making bad calls. Don't get tilted over this. Here are a few other thoughts about sng's.

Early in a sng I usually sit tight unless I get premium cards, especially in early position. This is the time I watch how the other players are playing their hands and I adjust my play accordingly. Then I watch as the loosey-goosey players get knocked out.

As the board thins, I loosen my play a bit. If I make to the bubble, I usually tighten up a bit, unless I have a big stack next to three relatively low stacks. I know they'll be very tight to avoid elimination, and I can steal a lot of blinds, which are getting big at this point.

If I make it to heads up play, I have to get aggressive. The blinds are very big now, and if I'm not aggressive, the other player will be. I still mix up my play, though, to keep the other guy on his toes.

This may seem like it doesn't answer your question, but it may. What you haven't mentioned is how deep into the sng you were when you got all those bad beats.

What I am about to say will more than likely put me on the proverbial Sh*t list but what the heck. Hell it will probably get me banned.

I have witnessed and been victim to literally hundreds upon hundreds of suck outs at s&g's.

The prevailing theory on the net is that full tilts software is designed to make poor players think that they are better than they actually are so that they will make real money deposits.

Take some time and set a clock up on your computer that can display running time in hundreds of seconds and the go open a s&g and sit and watch the time delay on the turn and river cards as the system sets aside winning hands looking for the suck out card.
It's real....It's there to see if you dare to look.

Now I am in no way dissin the entire site. But the freerolls are most certainly "Tilted" in favor of the less able.

You're bad at them because you lose. If you were winning you'd say that you're awesome at them, when really neither is true.
