| AJ Benza is better than the ridiculous Corboy guy who announced play-by-play for the PPT tour. Benza has a good sense of humor and doesn't get in Gabe Kaplan's way. |

I don't understand the hate.
I like her because in my opinion at least, she's really attractive. I have no knowledge of her poker skill but she certainly can't be too bad and that's pretty cool as well. She also has this vibe that just attracts me, and I don't really know anything about her attitude because I don't really pay attention to many live pros. |

I've read a lot of "hate" on the forum where people seem to think she isn't too bright, or like boomer said, she has a bad attitude... I've got to believe this was a solitary incident that was televised or something because I've heard her interviewed multiple times on podcasts and she seems like one of the nicest and most interesting people in poker, imo... |

For some reason I had Rousso and Tiffany Michelle crossed up in my head. Rousso probably wouldn't be bad, although I still think Benza plays a good straight-man to Gabe, both in the humor and poker commentary sides of announcing. |

Now I understand the hatred.
Tiffany Michelle is a total **** and isn't even a poker pro as far as I know, so yeah I totally agree with your thought process. I'm not saying Rousso should replace Benza, but since he's gone and they're replacing him with a woman, she wouldn't be a bad choice at all IMO.
If I wanted an announcer who was just great at poker alone and not something to look at on that show, I'd choose Vanessa Selbst (fslexcduck). |

Oppps, so sorry, this is her on the cover of SI Swimsuit issue.
That is a nice body...Oh, wait, the face, yeah that is all right as well.
Of course, it is hard to find publicity shots that aren't doctored a bit, even SI. This is what she looks like when she wakes up in the morning..
All in all, a fellow could do a lot worse. |

This reminds me of MNF... we'll probably see a carousel of commentators until they find the right one(s) to maximize ratings. |

Daniel said on the FCP forums that he knows who the girl is, and everyone loves her. This likely rules out Vanessa. He also said that Gabe Kaplan will be handling all the commentary. |

According to PokerNewsDaily.com, Vanessa Rousso will not be the new co-host of "High Stakes Poker".
When A.J. Benza announced earlier this week that he had been replaced by a "chick" for the sixth season of "High Stakes Poker", many people thought that the new co-host would be Vanessa Rousso.
According to Daniel Negreanu, "Gabe will be doing the commentary alone, but there will be a female addition to the crew, not for strategy discussion, and you all know her and everyone likes her." Source: Full Contact Poker
Based on this tidbit of information from Negreanu, I'd say that Amanda Leatherman and Shana Hiatt seem like strong possibilities.
We should find out the identity of the new co-host later this week.
Hmm... seems odd to have one commentator, but then again Ali Nejad does a nice job on PAD, imo.
And I would not mind seeing more of Shana Hiatt... I guess she's to poker like Erin Andrews is to ESPN. |
