I often complain about bad beats, usually because I can't stand losing to someone who plays the hand so horribly that it makes everyone laugh. I'm sure my complaining of beats at the tables pisses a lot of people off, so sorry about that fellow Razz players. That being said, I strongly feel that people can agree that the following suck-out that took place in last nights $10 Razz MTT may have been one of the worst bad beats you have ever seen. (Note that I was all in on 6th street jumping out of my seat)

As you can see, I was short stacked, less than half the average chips. If I won this hand, I would have been in much better shape and also have some breathing room. When I saw that my opponent had caught one of the 2 remaining 2's in the deck, I gave up. I raised all my chips the hand afterward, figuring that if I couldn't win with 6432A, the second best possible hand in Razz, then I might as well say screw this. Sometimes you can just tell that Full Tilt isn't going to let you win that day.

I might also note that I went back and calculated the odds. On 6th street, I had no chance of losing. The worst that could happen was if my opponent hit a 2 on 7th street, which would split the pot. The odds of this happening? 2.99%. Odds calculated at www.propokertools.com

i don't see this as a bad beat at all.
onetuff had two good hole cards to start with.
by the time you got to 5th street he might as well complete the betting, you guys are basicly all in and he's only risking about a third of his stack.
with a chance to knock out two, he was playing smart.

never go on tilt playing razz. with your chip stack after that hand patience is key. playing short stacked sucks but mounting a comeback is not out of the realm of possibilities. this is one reason i like razz. when the limits get crazy you can move up amazingly fast.

I never said I thought he played the hand poorly. I'm just saying the fact he only had a %3 chance of even sharing that pot with me is a bad beat. It is extremely rare to see a %3 chance win. That's the equivalent of a seriously bad runner runner in NL Holdem. In other words, when someone hits a two outer, yes, it's a bad beat.

Here's what I just ran into... makes me want to shoot myself in the foot. Then again, it was a freeroll... but still... no one at the table had a clue what they were doing and I kept getting sucked out on by players betting with pairs and pictures showing.. ridiculous.

maybe because he does have the best made hand, clearly has the best draw (even more important), and would love to get raised here because he'll make the best hand more than twice as often as either villain even if they have unpaied wheel cards in the hole?

I bet here because I had the best hand and best draw, and wanted to get as much out of it as possible. Like SG said, I wanted a re-raise. I can't picture a check after I had been the one betting all the way. Why check if I still have the best board?
