|
|
I don't see one. I enrolled and watched my first video. But the challenge says I have to play in a real money game. Are there any lessons that don't require this?
I plan to eventually play real money games, after I feel I know what I'm doing. Or is playing in real money games considered "tuition" for the academy? |

You're exactly right - your rake is your tuition. You first need 500 FTP to get access to everything. For reference, playing at a single 50 cent/1 dollar NLH table, I find that that should require about 900 minutes of play. Of course, if you play 2 or 4 tables, that'll cut the time.
One thing you can do for cheap is the Sit-N-Learns. I don't know if non-gold folks can get access to any of them, but they're the brief 7 question quizzes. As long as you get at least 1 of the 7 questions right, you're virtually guaranteed to enter a monthly tournament that takes place on a Saturday next month. Get in the top 100 (again, virtually guaranteed as most people sit out), and you play in a Sunday tournament that has a $5K prizepool spread out amongst about 700 people.
However, the challenges are the place to rack up the real rewards. Most of them go for 200-800 AP, and 5000 AP get you a $26 token. And, yes, the pro challenges all do have to be done at real money games - no play chips. Real money games are VERY different from play chip games, where some folks just like to push in their stacks at random. |

Quite honestly, some micro stakes games aren't much different. |
