I have a coupel of hundred hands and bith villains are withing the avg range for most players at this level. My question is not necessarely on this specific hand but on similar situation. In this perticular hand I was tring to get a bit trick instead of just completing the blinds as I woudl normaly do. Regardless I think my call of the 4 bet is prety standard as my hand is likely to play well against his range and if I miss it is easy to get away from. Now once the bb pushes and the btn also moves all in should I be calling? Given stack size probably pot commited in this spot.
Full Tilt Poker $0.50/$1 Pot Limit Omaha Hi - 4 players -
The Official Hand History
Hero (SB): $68.15
BB: $32.40
CO: $148.50
BTN: $60.60
Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is SB with 7 6 5 3
1 fold, BTN calls $1, Hero raises to $4, BB calls $3, BTN raises to $16, Hero calls $12, BB raises to $32.40 all in, BTN raises to $60.60 all in, Hero ??
But a more common situation is for me to call a 3 bet and then have a blind 4 bet and then the initial raiser 5 bet, which is essentially the same setup but I have less invested by the time it is prety clear the other 2 players want to get it all in pre... I feel that calling is the correct play as they are likely to be sharing a bunch of high cards and I could be as good as 55% with 2/1 on my $$. However it is possible that they also have just the right combinations of cards that leves me with a little less than a third equity in the pot. So do you think it is profitable in the long run to get it all in with a small (J high or less) rundown hand against two average players that are looking to get it all in preflop ahead of you? |

OOP, I prefer to keep the pots smaller and would probably have flatted preflop.
Not sure what to do now. I agre with your thought process, but I think its entirely possible that the BTN went through the same thoughts as you and is happy to get it all in preflop with his JT87 type hand against the presumed high cards of yourself and the BB.
Quesiton is do you feel like gambling here? YOu're certainly not ahead, but you might be have the right equity or close to it to call. If calling here if +EV, I doubt its by very much, and the variance is huge... but I'll gladly defer that question to some others. |

yeah i agree with just limping this hand. it's not really as good as it looks since on a lot of middle types of flops you will often have a big wrap to non-nut straights and end up getting it in pretty bad against higher wraps. also, any two-pair or trips hands you might flop aren't exactly going to be super-strong.
as played, it's a pretty easy call once you've already got 1/4 of the stack in the middle. |
