Hey all,
We are always looking for ways to improve the Academy Challenge experience, and naturally, the FTPA members who have actually been taking the Challenges and completing them are the best judges of what works best.
So going forward, please use this forum thread to share your ideas on future Challenges. You can suggest specific tasks that you think would be compelling, or your suggestions can be more general in nature.
We value your feedback, and we will monitor this thread closely and try to incorporate as many Challenge suggestions as possible. |

Phil Gordon Prop Bets Challenge:
- Must make prop bet with other player at the table (i.e. whether you met Howard Lederer's mother in a casino)
- Prop bet must be one that the challenged will obviously win (i.e. Howard Lederer's mother does not go to casinos)
- Must convince at least 1 other person to join your losing side of the prop bet
- At some point during the task, you must say "Back up the truck"
(if you don't get this, check the episode of PAD with Phil and Howard....) |

please make challenges that cover non-holdem poker. you have great tutorial videos on mixed games, omaha and omaha H/L; please make some challenges about it too.
also some challenges regarding the 8-seater (limit) SNGs would be awesome to see. |

How about a six legged 1 table SnG HORSE challenge:
Cash or win in a LHE game
Cash or win in a L08 game
Cash or win in a Razz game
Cash or win in a Stud game
Cash or win in a Stud8 game
Pro play: Cash or win in a HORSE game
This could be done in MTT format too, with the goals to be either double up, make it in the top 50%, cash, or make a final table. In fact, MTT might be easier, since single table SnGs for non-NLH games don't seem to be popular. |

Got another one...
Matasou Blow Up Challenge:
-Lose a pot of >100 BB in a NLH ring game.
-Curse both verbally and online
-Break computer into small bits.
-Mail computer in a 1 quart baggie to Full Tilt Poker for verification
Not sure how many AP this one should be worth....preferably enough to buy a new computer with the AP. |

+1.
I dunno...maybe something like:
Pro play: Scoop the pot. Maybe the pot has to have a certain amount of BB's in it. This could be for both Omaha/8 and stud/8
For stud/8 games:
Task 1: raise in late position with a certain type of hand (let the pro decide the type of hand) to dwindle the field or get value out the hand and win at least 50% of the pot.
Task 2: fold a pocket pair (maybe 8's and higher?) in early position.
For Omaha/8:
Task 1: Raise with A-2-3-X in any position to get value out of the hand. Maybe make it where the A has to be suited?
For Razz:
Task 1: Punish the limpers. With the just the player who brought-in, and 1 or 2 other limpers, raise with a 7 low or better and get them all to fold, giving you the pot...or something like that.
Task 2: Win a pot with a certain amount of BB's in it.
Task 3: Fold an 8-lo in early to mid position. And/or fold it in late position after the pot has been raised.
Well, I'm sure the pros can think of more and much better tasks. I'd have to look thru Super System but I don't have time. All I'm saying is I'd like to see hilo and razz ring game challenges. Thank you. |

|
|
MTT and 18/36/45/90 Sit and Go's would top my list for new challenges.
Along with what others have already mentioned in this regard... Perhaps for each there could be a "starter" version and a more advanced version of each. The starter version could require simply playing in a given number of MTT's and winning pots at different stages of the tourney (e.g early/middle/late) with a set of given hand requirements. The pro play could be to cash in 3 of each type of game. Same with the Multi-Table Sit and Go's.
The advanced versions of these new challenges should require more stringent opening hand play at various stages... With the idea being to push people beyond their usual comfort zone which might require/teach more aggressive play strategies from tighter players. Another portion of the higher level challenges would require, at minimum, reaching the final table. Accomplishing the pro play would mandate that one win or have, at the very least, a top 2 or top 3 finish.
Just my 2 cents. Best of luck to all!!!
