Thanks in advance...

| I have always heard that ring games are where most players make the majority of their money. So it would seem to build cash play ring games, to make a bigger payday in one shot play tournaments (either SnG or Others). |

| Ring games for sure. MTT's 2nd because of the big payouts to the top finishers. SNG's actually offer the lowest ROI to the good players. However, if you're not profitable at ring games but are at SNG's then obviously you would want to play the SNG's. |

First track your ROI and see which is more profitable for you. It may also depend on your BR. With the suggested BR management, with $100 you can play a $2 SnG. With that same $100. you would be buying into a .02/.04 ring for 50 BB and usually a raise to .16 doesn't have the impact of a 4x raise in a SnG.
It may also depend on your personality and playing style. If your patient, can wait for good hands, or position opportunities, and disiplined with the hands you play, usually open with a raise when you do play, and understand the relationship of increasing blinds and fewer players. SnG's would be better.
If you crave action, want or need to be able to start and end the game on your time schedule, you may prefer Ring. On the other hand if you don't know when to leave a ring game, whether it's from lossing or trippling up. The SnG's always have a start and end time. |

| In ring games you must also account for the rise & fall of your BR (aka variance) Your BR at times will look like the stock market ticker. |

Ring games should be the most profitable, but this will of course depend on your game. To my mind ring games are the more consistant test of a players skill compared to tournaments.
So yes, ring games can be more profitable, but the flip side is that you can lose a lot quickly as well if your game has to many holes. |

It's not the level that matters, but the player. Not to mention "intermediate" is VERY subjective.
I make far more money playing SNGs, than I do at Ring games. |

For example, if someone has to ask the question that the OP is asksing, they're not an "intermediate" player... If you don't know what makes your bankroll go up, you are a beginner... |
