Imalso new just today! WOoHOO -->Hey all i won my 1st tourney paid like .90 cents and 10 cents something like that but anyways i won 6 bucks but its not in my cashier? whats with that thought full tilt was for real cash man? thanks

Are you sure it was a paying T or could it have been a Sat to another T? Look in your registerd in T's tab and see if you are registered to any T's. Most likely if it was a sat, the buyin to the T will be the $6 you won. Hope this helps.

Sharkscope or Official Poker Rankings are the two major sites that people use to find player stats. Google is your friend.

Noob here! (of course you could have figured that out. Wink)
I hope this is the place I'm supposed to intro myself.

I've been coming here a long time, reading and the like but thought if I wanted to play in your tourney's it's only right to participate (to the best of my ability) and as a bonus get some much needed help with my game.

I'm still figuring out my way around so I look forward to reading more and getting to know some of you.

Hi all,

After an exhausting search of 17 pages of hits, I still don't know what +EV means. Can someone give me a quick definition? Thanks.

EV = expected value

+EV means you can expect to make profit. (for example raising AA in a heads up situation)

-EV would be if you call that raise with 27. (your profit-expectation is negative there. most the time you wont win money)

i hope that helps and that my selfmade definition is not too far off.

Sorry first off....if I am not in the right spot. But I was wondering why people keep telling me, "Nice suck out Donk." First what is a DONK and second, what is a suck out, it sounds pretty negative to me and though I like playing I am not keen on pissing people off, am I doing something wrong?

Donk = donkey or bad player

Suck out = you put the money in while you were behind and sucked out the card you needed to win

People who say these things are generally immature whiners and you shouldn't take things personally. They just never learned how to be gracious losers.

So they are upset that I won the hand, but not because I play unethically? I mean this is poker, right? Who can play the better hand or bluff trying? OK, I am sorry now because I know I am going on and on.....I am done, Thanks for the definitions.

Pong

To me a suckout is when you get the money in the pot bad- like say you call my all in with A2 and I have AK-- you just happen to spike your 2. This makes you a " donk", because even though you won the hand- you are still not the better player, because you couldn't have possibly knew the board was gonna have the 2. If we see the flop for a standard raise, and the flop has a 2, then the money goes in- that is my fault because I put my chips in bad.

If you put your chips in bad, and by the play of the others at the table- you should be knowingly doing so, but just hoping to suckout--- to me that is a donk.

Alot of players misuse this word, any time they lose a hand.

Also if you call raises preflop with inferior hands that should be folded to raises- you will be called a donk.

I'm not trying to say anything bad- just trying to help you understand the definitions.

Example: In the ferguson one night I was dealt AA in the SB, I shoved blind vs blind looking for a double up. BB calls with 59 suited...

I had been playing rather tight up til then, now you tell me what is he ahead of preflop--- you guessed it the only thing he is ahead of is 8 high and below. How can you call off two-thirds of your stack preflop with 9 high against a tight player?

He ended up rivering the flush and hitting his (I'm guessing) around 16% to win the hand. My friend Miss Beck was on the rail so it wasn't needed for me to call names though--- "That's What Friends Are Foooooor".

Just don't whine about freeroll passwords on your 2nd post here, and it'll be all good.
