Ha ha! The funny thing is, he probably will get lucky sometime soon, and he'll start to think that editing his posts here has somehow earned him that luck! |

| In razz however, most people are going to fold any starting hand that has a card above an 8 in it. |
I think that's more true in ring games, particularly at the higher limit tables. As with most other games, you'll see anything at the cheap tables, but Razz seems to bring out more fish than any other game. I love when I've got something like 423 showing and a guy is cold calling a bet and my raise with QJ2. Not only is that just plain silly, but it announces to the world that he's probably got A3 in the hole and he just can't stand to dump it even if half his outs are already showing on the board. I love these guys, even if it means seeing them dish out some incredible bad beats occasionally.
In tournaments, especially as the limits increase, you have to play more hands. If I'm last to act (or even in LP with bad board cards behind me) facing just the bring-in, I'll call with a face card showing if I've got two good cards in the hole and a favorable board. I would never do that in a ring game. Heck, I'll sometimes come in with two bricks in the hole if I think I can get my opponent to fold if I catch good cards on 4th and 5th street and/or he bricks up.
Sometimes Razz can be a maddening game, but I really like it.

Point well taken. I was simply trying to explain why one sees so many pairs in the game. Tournament play is much different in any form of poker.
On that note, I would love to play in some razz tourneys. The only ones I see are the freerolls. Is that all that's offered here, or are cash tourneys as well? |

There are $5, $10 and $20 Razz cash tourneys at FTP, but they're nowhere near as frequent as Hold'em. Seems like there are just 1-2 per day, including the freerolls.
I actually play more Razz in the HORSE tourneys than the Razz tourneys. I love the HORSE S&Gs.

| I will never put another cent into this game. total scam when it comes to deals. have done the odds just doesnt work out even at small level tables. 73% loss rate with pocket pairs of 10 or higher when you are the small stack. The bigger stack will flop a flush or higher pair ie: kk's when you have qq's. Its the program. Ever notice in tourney play when you get small stack all the sudden you get good cards but lose on river. I thought it was poker until i kept track of my games along with three others over 100 games each. the stats dont lie. All I am getting to is the cards are not random. Once you learn the system bet against it. Former programmers and employees have came out public with this info.. |

Ya, pairs of K's and Q's are bad in RAZZ
Mods should move his post to the RIGGAT thread. |

I question the randomness too. Full-houses, Flushdraws, and straights seem to have occurred more often than the probabilities of these hands occurring. Ck out this article about random generators of software progrmas=> http://www.cigital.com/papers/download/developer_gambling.php |
