Just starting to try and learn some hi-lo myself but i dont think i woulda raised with this to start off with,maybe get a little spunky when the 2 came,but it turned out nice...OBV...
....i cant wait to see some of the veterans response to this post,not many on hi-lo. |

yeah i also thought that 3 suited small cards are a good start at stud h/l.
that i will scoop that pot with a straightflush was a pretty nice special feature  |

Good raise at the start. With an 8 lo and a flush draw you gotta get as much people out as possible so they don't take your flush outs and so your 8-lo holds up. At those levels the noobs find it hard to fold something like A-5-paint. On 4th I guess the bet is good, though scary. Its good that you lead out to see where you're at but if they re-pop then what? Thankfully they caught bad on 5th which gave u the green light to pop and repop it if need be. The straight flush was REAL lucky. NH Craven. |

OK maybe not, went out on a limb. The cards are gonna fall the way they choose. I mean you have a chance of taking half the pot if not scoop. |

Really? It's because you still get the same amount of cards to your hand, so it doesn't matter if the rest of the cards go to someone else's hand or remain in the deck. I can't believe you guys don't understand that. |

Ok forgive my stupidity, but if I have a heart draw on 4th with 2 other people in the pot, and by 6th if I still haven't hit but they get 3 of my hearts- that reduces my odds of hitting on 7th.  |

And if they don't get any hearts, than it increases your odds of hitting. For example, say you are the only one in the hand, nobody else whatsoever, and you are just drawing cards for fun. Say on 4th you have 4 hearts. This means that out of the remaining 48 cards, 9 make your flush. Now say that there are 2 dead hearts. Out of the 46 cards remaining, 7 make your flush. This is what you were alluding to. However, you forgot to consider that when the dead cards are non hearts, that it actually increases your chances of hitting. In this case, if the 2 dead cards were spades, 9 of the remaining 46 cards make your flush, as opposed to 9 of 48. So in the end, it all balances out to be the same. This is said in the short hand in my first post, that you are still getting the same number of cards, and it doesn't matter whether the rest stay in teh deck, or go to someone else's hand. |
