Hey everyone just wondering if anyone can recommend any good books about poker. Looking to up my game a bit as I've just started playing seriously (ie not just with friends or BS'ing at the casino)

Sine you posted in fixed limit I'm assuming you want books that are specific to fixed limit hold'em.
Winning Low Limit Hold'em (3rd Edition)
This book is a good starter book for limit hold'em. It's a little more simple and basic than some other books and is a good place to start.
Small Stakes Hold'em
This is a very good book. A little more advanced and in depth than Winning Low Limit Hold'em. If you have a pretty good understanding of the game than you can start with this book. If not start with WLLH.
Weighing the Odds in Hold'em Poker
Another good book comparable to Small Stakes Hold'em. Worth checking out if you really want to immerse yourself in limit poker strategy but not necessary if you just want to improve your game so your profitable. You can get away with the first two books in that case. |

Winning Low-Limit Hold'em is a great book to get some solid foundations established in your game. After that, don't go for Small Stakes Hold'em, everyone's read it, and the games it refers to don't exist beyond 10c/20c online and $2/$4 live, so it's kinda useless. Instead get this book:
