Just played for the first time. Bought into play money to try it out and took 1000 chips to 10,000. Didn't do anything special just played what I thought would win from the very brief research I did. Didn't get the feeling people were just calling everything because it was free also. Alot of folding, but who knows. So I figure take a shot in the real money. The lowest buy in. Played the same way and gone like the wind!!
Why am I surprised.
Fun game though. Might have to try it out some more. Can get a little crazy fast. |

The Ferguson is a $1 tourney (no rake) that runs every night at 1:30 am server time. It's mostly NLHE, but they rotate other games in there, like razz and HORSE. The tourney came about when Chris Ferguson was in the beginning stages of his $0-10,000 challenge. His bankroll was small, so they created a tourney for him to play every night. It has a gauranteed prize pool of $500.
Not sure if Chris plays it anymore, but last night Chip and Karina Jett played it. |

I thought it was because the first time he went from $1-20,000 so everyone else could easily start the same challenge. |

Razz is a great game to work the cash tables with, because you get alot of people that don't know what they are doing and you can really benefit from this. But it can also screw you because they will suckout on you at times!!!
If you really like razz I would also recommend playing HORSE because alot of the players in there do not understand the RAZZ game and you can really take advantage of that and build your stack during this time!! |

So I have been here 6 months and have 6 posts? What does that mean renegades? It means I don't sit on my *** everyday and reply to every post that is made.
You have a problem with that then tell it to someone who gives a ****.

Usually, when people lack quantity they make up for it in quality. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. |

ur an idiot...play money and freerolls arnt the same thing. freerolls theres real money at stake so people have incentives to play better. play money there is no incentive. you should try laughing at other peoples posts less and thinking about them more. |

Yeah, freerolls are worse.
I remember the last freeroll I actually played with half a damn to placing in, and got down to about 40 people left, purely by playing all in or fold preflop. And then, with 40 people out of 2700 left, I saw the worst call of the tourney when some guy called my all in with QJos. And we were both very nicely stacked too. (He lost and busted.) But when one of the top 1.5% of the field makes a call like that, it sure says something about the quality of the field. I think I won 3 bucks for final tabling it, which I promptly put into a small blind at 3/6, just because I could.
As much as it hurts me to say this, I will. I see better play at high limit play chip than I do in freerolls, period. And I have almost no respect for play chip players. |

thats frustrating sure....but if you played for 100000000 hours in the play money you still wouldnt have made as much money as u did in that freeroll. im not saying that top pros play in freerolls.....actually im not even saying that above decent players play in freerolls.....im just saying that the avg player at the avg limit will play better in freerolls than in play money....simply because they have the incentive to do so. that person that called you with qjo is obviously a bad player.....but how much better do you think he would play at the high limits of playmoney |
