Online Poker Forum - Random Cards being dealt?

Someone explain this to me please- Why the heck do I ALWAYS get trips and full houses in Razz steady, but when I go to Stud or omaha- forget about getting cards like that? I just sat for 4 days steady watching in amusement as I'd start with A-3-5 or some other low cards only to have the deal go like so 5-3-5-k- for HOURS!!! I realize you have to fold alot, but my gosh- I kept getting 3 low cards that NEVER materialzed & always turned into trips/two pair/ full houses for crying out loud. Every now and again they'd deal me out a low hand of A-3-4-5-7 only to be beat by A-2-3-4-5- Then VERY rarely the 'random card generator' must have felt sorry for me and let me win a couple to stay just barely above water

All that aside- If this is such a random card generator- then why the difference in the cards that you're dealt in Razz as compared to omaha and stud? If it's random- then you wouldn't be seeing the styeady full houses/trips/twop pair tyhat is seen in Razz

At first I thought "Well maybe I'm just catching a bad run"- but hten it just went on and on and on

How many hands? Keep in mind that selective memory is a very powerful thing. Go ahead and put up your stats from a tracking program - I'm all for seeing somebody with numerical proof of their accusations.

these are all just a few hands apart- I left out hte ones I didn't start the round with or mucked on 3'rd or 4'th- then when I muck- I watch the upcards on the dude on my left (These are the cards you would have got had you stayed in) & yep- they'da paired something.

on and on it goes steady all day- I switch to 7 card stud or omaha & nothin man- Rarely even get as much as two pair- occassionally trips- in raz- you constantly getting two pair- often getting trips and full houses even- it really likes to give you 3 good low starting cards- then it might give ya another just for giggles- then the pairing starts, or the trips- Remember- you're throwing away alot of starting hands- these are only the ones I played- bah- I give up

I was thinking something more along the lines of statistics and numbers, rather than a bunch of random hands that you got bad hands in. That list seems impressive, but it was over how many hands? You are more likely than not to have a pair out of 7 cards, and your starting hands are hardly premium.

I read the post, then looked at the first two hands your played. Both started with a 10 or a pair or something equally stupid. Also, you're playing 25-50 cents. There's going to be a lot funky things happen when four people see 5 cards every hand.

They could never get away with deliberately rigging the rng. Poker tracker or someone with a large database could easily catch them. It's a very common thread on player forums. Many accuse the site of doing it to juice the rake. It's really funny because almost every time I see a post about this, it's from someone playing really small limits.

I wasn't in need of critique on my play- I KNOW I'm not that good- that is NOT what this topic was about- my skill has NOTHING to do with what I'm observing- Hell- I wasn't even complaining about losing- I was commenting on the differences in the deals in both games when the deals should be the same IF things are truly random

NOW- Having said that- I was going to comment earlier- before certain pros popped in to insult- that I grabbed a deck of cards- Dealt 7 positions over and over and DID notice that trips/two pairs/ and even full houses came up frequent- I was going to retract my statement and switch it over to asking why, IF this is happening in Razz, it isn't happening in Stud

I think a lot of it has to do with the poor quality of play on the Razz tables. In Stud, people know that they should start with pairs, big suited connected cards etc. In Razz, plenty of players don't have a clue. Some players will call raises on third street with a king up because they have A-2 in the hole and they think its a good hand. They'll also call a bet on fourth when they pair their ace against their opponent's good card.

In stud, people don't start with random hands like J-7-2 because it's obvious that its a bad hand, and if they do decide to play they are much less likely to see the river.

If people did start with any three cards in Stud, you'd see just as many random trips and full houses as you see at the small (and sometimes the big) Razz tables.

Everything you state should hold true- however, what I experience- especially at the lower limits is as I described- My question really wasn't aimed at how one should play or even at how many play hteir hands all the way through- it was aimed at the differences in the two games card wise when in actuality, they should both be dealing out the same cards if the random deal is the same. In the lower limit, more people play hteir hands all the way through (Especially in Razz becasue as you state, not many really know the game well) and from what I'm experiencing is that you tend to see alot more two pair/trips/full houses in razz when everyone shows their hand at the showdown than you do in stud. In stud, I'll go for like 10-15 hands or so not getting so much as two pair- whereas in razz, it seems you're getting them every other or ever third hand or so.

My original contention was that the random deal in razz was whack- but after getting a deck and doing an experiment, I noted that you really do get two pair/trips/full houses quite often- so I Had to change my original question over to asking why, if the deal is supposed to be the same randomkness, do the Stud games not show the same consistency of two pair/trips/full houses that Razz does?

As I'm playing Razz, Alot of people are mentioning this- I hear comments like ' My gosh- why can't I get these hands in stud?" and "Hahahaha- another full house- I win, lol"

Oh well, Not going to dwell too much on it- just seems odd to me is all
