If you won 45K (which I really doubt) why are you complaining? Clearly these fish are working out well for you.

I won the piece of pro for Phil Ivey back in July...don't care if you don't believe me or not.

Actually that tourney had no fishes. It was for big money so people played well and it was a $100 buy-in(no I didn't pay won a satellite)...I mean there were fishes here and there but they were out of the tourney really quick. Once it got down to the final 100...150 everyone was pretty solid. There were bluffs but good bluffs(with outs). I guess the reason I'm complaining is because I was pi$$ed off and came onto the "bad beats" forum to vent...figuring that's what it is for...but I guess not. It seems to be a forum where people come and vent just to get replies by you, Zuchov and a couple of others justifying the other people's play. A better question would be why are you on this forum all the time constantly harrassing the people that write their bad beat stories?

You came off a bit badly when you started throwing around words like "moron", "retarded", and "quality of players"...

Vent about the cards. Yeah, you both had him covered when he went all in, but he took a risk and it paid off for him. Doesn't make him a moron. Makes him a gambler. Don't start in with the personal attacks.

Good poker players love gamblers. In the long run, you'll take their money...

Right. Just pointing out that there are much, much worse things in poker than losing 20 bucks to a bad beat. I was naively hoping it might lead to a contagious outbreak of perspective or something, but I guess I was wrong again.

You know your problem, Zuchov? You're too optimistic.

Pity... it was looking like it might have some real good insights in it too. Laughing

I was talking to a friend about poker the other day, ranting about a bad beat I had taken, when he brought up a very good point.

Basically, he said, if a person bets, or calls your bet, he deserves to be in the pot. It doesn't matter how dumb his call may look to you. He's paid to see the next card, just like you have. You can't take his money when you win (which will be most of the time if you're playing good cards), then complain when he takes your money (which will be seldom if he's playing junk).

All you can do is suck it up, and know that in the long run you'll take more from him then he'll take from you.

Besides, I'd rather take a bad beat than lose to a better hand. At least I'd know I played it right.

::golf clap::

weird to hear such honesty and lack of ego on a poker forum... even if it did come from a friend of a friend of a friend who doesn't even really play poker

lol

I also think of it like this... (more relevant for the live games)... you're not always going to have easy targets with big stacks sitting at your table (I mean, sheesh, I'm only allowed to be that guy at one table at a time -- lol)... so you also need to outplay your opponents who are either better players or have better cards... When you miss at some point in the hand you can ditch your coup efforts... and when you hit, you might get all your money in the pot after you've already made your hand.
