*** 3RD STREET ***
Dealt to gander [6s]
Dealt to kevinwalsh11 [4h]

now with this hand i know i made multiple mistakes. my first mistake probably was trying to represent a hand. players will never release two pair or even a top pair so it wasn't a smart idea to try and represent the hand. the flat call on 3rd i though said 3 to the flush or wired pair, but couldn't do much more. after the 3rd club hit the board, i had to raise, if nothing else than to try and take a free card off. i got caught up in a chasing hand, and felt i played this horribly. any suggestions.

I don't mind your play up until 5th street. When three other clubs hit the board, plus two of your queens and a king where out, you were running thin on outs. This would have been time to abort.

the 2nd hand was played pretty well. You have to bet and raise with your board cards as is. I think almost everyone would unless they see a pair on another board.

In hand one, without the completion, you really weren't representing anything unfortunately. With the straight call of the completion of a loose player, most would assume you may just have a moderate hand, like a mid pr or a drawing hand like you did have. You could have represented 4 to a flush and reraised 4th, but DJ Gambler was in the same position, upcard wise. When he paired his Q, that was the time to jump ship instead of raising. You have to figure that he was 4 to a flush or 2 pr when you're still drawing.

Hand 2 was pretty good, the only thing I might have done differently was raise 5th st. instead of smooth calling it. Your hand was a much better heads up hand than 3 way. DJ Gambler had 3 diamonds up on 6th which could have put him 4 to a flush. You had a strong hand at that point, but not a monster per se. Overall though it was a nice hand.

Instead of representing a three-flush on the first hand, I would have represented a pair of Kings and raised it. That should have cleared most everyone out behind you and given you a better idea of what DJ_Gambler had.

My guess is had you done that, you, DJ_Gambler and probably kevinwalsh11 would have seen fourth street. Obviously, if you pair up on fourth street, then you play the hand out. But let's assume you do not pair up on fourth street. Still, if you have the high board, and you've already raised third street, bet. If either of them calls or raises, it's probably time to abort and you get out of the hand fairly cheaply. If one of the other two players has high board on fourth street and they bet out despite your third-street raise, then obviously you fold. But if one of the others has high board and they check it to you, you probably will win the pot with a bet. But you could also opt to see a free card to try to make a hand, whichever you prefer.

In any scenario, a raise on third street might have stolen a pot for you on fourth street, given you enough information to get out of the hand cheaply or given you the opportunity to see a free card or two. You really didn't give yourself much opportunity to play this hand well by just calling the completion.

Really, the only time I would call a completion with this hand is if I were the last to act and two or three people called ahead of you. That way, you have some pretty decent pot odds to try to make a hand by fifth street.
