is there a way to register or do you just have to be fast and lucky when it pops up

You have to be pretty fast. Luck is only needed on slower connections. The NLHE freerolls with 2700 entrants fill up in less than a minute. I was able to register for the HORSE freeroll today about 10 minutes after registration opened.

If you're trying to get into the Poker After Dark freerolls with only about 180 people, it is much faster. Those are literally impossible (at least in my experience) on dial up speed.

thanks i wasn't sure if there was some other way to sign up faster. Im new to this what is the horse freeroll

HORSE is a limit game that levels rotate between Hold'Em (H), Omaha Hi/Lo (O), Razz (R), Stud Hi (S), Stud Hi/Lo (E).

Thanks for this post. I thought I was doing something wrong. I came in at 19:01 to sign up and it was already full. I guess in the future I will be waiting with the tourney lobby open a few minutes before time. Thanks also for the spacebar hint too.
