They both chased me like wolves. That guy admitted to rivering the third ten... I had 8 spade outs and a 7-5 draw along with my aces on 6th. I'm gonna be sick.... So many cashes, so many final tables. No wins. |

| Can I share my pain too? I was in a three way pot with blinds at 200/400 (8 Player SNG). Had A,2,5,7. Both of the other players were betting the max on each hand going for the high side. I had low locked up tight. Last three cards: 2,5,7. |

Yeah, it happens. And most of the time, it happens at the exact wrong time.
But it's what happens sometimes when you play against donks who think their middle pairs are worth throwing all their chips after even if an overcard or two is shooting bullets at them. |

It's easy to say, "well, you want them to play bad, right?" Of course, but when 5 people play bad even super strong hands like A-A-baby get busted most of the time, and you're stuck playing catch up. |

Which is why I NEVER play high hands in the early rounds of low-stakes MTTs. They're not worth battling over. With the exception of rolled-up trips, I don't play any high hands until things start tightening up around the bubble.
Until that time, just stick with your trips and baby straight draws and baby flush draws. Enough of those develop into high hands to carry you with no trouble to bubble time, when you can start pounding with your high hands.
I followed the advice of several people who said they only play their low hands in MTTs. And I discovered almost immediately that it works. Most of the time when I get into trouble in an MTT, it's because I couldn't help myself from playing a high pair. |
