That has to be the single most annoying thing on this site - double sitouts in heads-up tournaments. Everyone has to wait sometimes up as long as 20 minutes each round until one player blinds out to the other.
In chess tournaments, if a player doesn't show up within an hour of the scheduled start time, he loses, even if there is time still remaining on his clock. In poker, I don't see why a player in a heads-up tournament should be allowed to sit out from the start of the match for more than about 5 minutes without being forfeited. It would be a lot more fair to the rest of the players. |

There's a way to cure this problem that would not effect game play in any way. Instead of timed increases to the blinds, they could easily be tied to hand count.
Because two sitters, heads up, turn a lot of hands very rapidly, their game will be shortened because their blinds will progress more rapidly than the blinds of two active players.
Win win. |

9 pages of people complaining about this lol. Amazing. I think I will make me a list of all the whiners on this topic so I can look for them when I play. If you cant beat someone who isnt even playing, you should be easy pickings for someone who is hehe.
You pays yer money and you takes yer chances. If someone chooses to pay and sit out, so be it. Raise the blind and steal their blinds and move on sheesh. Next you will be wanting to penalize people who play too well. If you cant play poker the way it is, take your concepts of socialized poker and leave. You would probably be better off playing Go Fish with your kids, or, do you always lose at that also??? |

[ ] poster has shared constructive observations
[ x ] poster doesn't understand reason most others are complaining
[ x ] poster has obv. never played a 4-handed SnG (HUwinner vs. HUwinner) where this has happened |

Constructive Observation? If you are not able to beat someone sitting out, its time to rethink your game play strategy and develop one that allows you to do so. Also, never whine about free chips.
Doesnt understand? I fully understand how in a heads up match that cant proceed til all current matches are done could be held up by 2 sitters at the same table. They do not however have the same effect in a 90 person, 9 per table SNG, or a 2700 person freeroll. On a 6-9 person table, simply raise the blind 1 bet and they autofold meaning free chips for you and faster play. Do not do as I have seen and check down the down only to lose to them.
No, I havent played any HU matches. I mainly play ring, 90 SNG or large tourney. I personally like sitters when I play. I had a table in a 2700 freeroll once with 8 sitters and me. I went all-in happy for about 10 minutes and was up 8k before getting moved to another table.
I understand your grief, but the simple fact of the matter is, THIS IS POKER. Once you pay the buy-in, you are allowed to play your hands however you want. Whether you click sit-out and walk away, or are actually sitting there but folding every hand, it amounts to the same thing and is a legal way to play.
If this gets you so riled, I advise never playing live events. You will never survive in a live event if you cant ignore the guy who trys to annoy you, or trys to piss you off, or whatever else they can think of to throw you off your game.
I put it to you that:
if they did change this site so that you had to either play a certain number of hands or be dropped from a tourney, you would see a mass exodus of players from this site, because that is what you are really asking them to do. |

| I was in a 9 player sit and go game earlier today. There were 5 autofolders left with me. The issue is not that you can't beat them. It took 20 minutes of raising them to bust them all. It's wasting my time when I could be playing another game. If this sorry forum would let you post a pic, I would attach a screenshot. They should time out after 2 or 3 minutes and lose any chance of getting chips. Anyone can go into a 6, 9, 18, or 27 game, and have a pretty good chance of getting a few chips with no effort. It wastes the time of people who are really there playing. If someone needs to go pee or something, fine, but just starting a game and leaving is ridiculous. If they really have an emergency, so what? They just lose their buy in. Tough. Don't sit down and start a game if you can't stay. If you play Quake or something like that online, there is no sit out. |

| The autofolder PROBLEM doesn't just occur in freeroll, whatever that is. I play Sit N Go NL Hold'em only. I'm fairly new and haven't figured out all the cryptic HU NFL BTFP initials yet. |

the forum would bog down, costs would skyrocket and you would **** that the forum was slow and bloated.
There are reasons for NOT allowing pic posting (the most obvious being bandwidth and storage, the less obvious being having to police offensive and/or commercial images).
Not sure which is worse; whiners or clueless whiners. |

Ok, this is my view...
1) If people want to sit out, it's their choice and everyone has the same choices, so that bit is fair enough.
2) I doubt that someone will be able to sit out into the money without making some play during a tourney... (And if they can, show me the Tourney and I will consider sitting it out myself)
3) However, I do agree that both players sitting out in a "heads Up" tourney is unacceptable as this prolongs the tourney for other players while the "sitters" sit and come down to a "coin Flip" at the end. I would probably suggest a "Sitting out" time bank in Heads up tourneys, so when the time bank has elapsed the player is eliminated.
So to conclude, IMO - Sitting out is fine unless it's in a heads up tourney and prolongs the game for others! |

| This would only really bother me if it was in any kind of a HU tournament. I have encountered many player who sit out in low level MTT's or in FR's, and it doesnt bother me too much. I just take their blinds and move on. In a Heads Up game on the other hand, sit outs can be very frustrating. |
