Hi, forgive me if this is answered someplace else already but I had a quick browse around and didn't see it.

On this page - http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/courses - there are no links, nothing is clickable!

How do I take each of the four courses?

Do I write down the lessons listed under each one and round them up myself? What's the point of calling them "courses" if they're in fact just lists of lessons? Just curious - I feel like I'm missing something. Embarassed

Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this!

edit: I have reluctantly copied down the text of the courses page to a text file on my computer so that I could start looking up each lesson in order - I clicked to the lesson page and looked through every lesson offered, but the first one, "* The Academy's Guide to Sit-n-Gos", doesn't seem to exist. And is "Understanding Position" really referring to the lesson titled "The Power of Position"?

Very confused, am looking very much forward to any explanation possible. I'm not a web newbie (I design webpages for a living) but the courses page has me befuddled.

Thanks again!

I've been searching for the lessons listed in each course and I think that some are completely misnamed and even give credit to the wrong pro!

Here are the lessons listed on the "courses" page, the corresponding lessons I have found on the "lessons" page, and the issues I have found. Hopefully someone will find this helpful, and someone will also help set me straight!

Introduction to Winning Poker course recommends the following lessons:
* The Academy's Guide to Sit-n-Gos (doesn't exist)
* Betting Basics, Howard Lederer http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/17/
* Understanding Position, Bill Edler (doesn't exist - do they mean The Power of Position? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/14/ )
* Sit & Gos by the Numbers, Aaron Bartely http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/51/
* Mastering the Bubble, Howard Lederer http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/47/

Mastering No-Limit Hold 'em course recommends the following lessons:
* 5 Common Leaks, Phil Gordon http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/50/
* The Mathematics of Poker, Andy Bloch (doesn't exist - do they mean Math Made Easy? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/39/)
* Pre-Flop Strategy, Chris Ferguson (doesn't exist - do they mean Pre Flop Play? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/82/ )
* The Tournament Checklist, Andy Bloch http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/9/
* Bankroll Management, Chris Ferguson http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/52/

Advanced MultiTable Tournaments recommends these lessons:
* Playing the Mid-Size Stack, Jen Harman (does this mean Medium Stack Play by Allen Cunningham? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/49/ )
* 3 Math Shortcuts, Bill Edler (does this mean Mathematical Shortcuts by Phil Gordon? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/53/ )
* Turbos, Taylor Caby (does this mean Turbo Tournaments by Michael Craig? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/38/ )
* Rebuy Tournaments, Paul Wasicka (does this mean Rebuy Tournaments Revealed by Michael Gracz? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/16/ )
* Final Table Play, Brandon Adams (does this mean The Final Table by Erick Lindgren? http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/48/ )

Advanced Cash Games course recommends these lessons:
(none are even listed at all)

As you can see, this last one was completely messed up. All of the names and authors are wrong.

Again, any insight anyone can shed on this whole mess would be very appreciated - Thanks! Very Happy

we're working a method where you can track your course progress through the My Academy page, but we're not done yet. Sorry for mess ups here. We will fix today.

Glad to hear about the links being fixed, thanks!

As for being able to track my course progress, that'd be great as long as it brings all of the links to lessons, challenges, etc. into one place for each course, and provides them in recommended order. Very Happy

I'm looking forward to that very much, and thank you for your quick response!

Uh oh, another problem!

The first course suggested is "Introduction to Winning Poker", in which the first lesson doesn't actually exist, and the second lesson requires silver access.

Quite puzzling since these are suggested FIRST!

Hi again, hopefully this thread is still being watched so that I don't have to report all of these bugs via the support email address -

I've just realized that, at least beginning this morning, the first two challenges for the first available lesson of the first course listed on your courses page (Intro. to Winning Poker > Hand Position) have the words "in cash games" added to the end.

Does this mean that play chip games do not count towards fulfilling these challenges?

I do not even have a cash account, and it did not say anyplace on the signup form or the academy page, the lesson page, the course page, OR the challenge page that you would HAVE to deposit cash/play in your "cash games" as opposed to play chip games in order to participate fully in the Academy!!

Please tell me this is incorrect. I would hate to think the Academy is, in fact, for people who deposit cash and not for everyone.

Thanks.

I'm almost positive its only for cash game players, not play money. Why would they award credits for use in a store to people playing play money? At least you can still watch the videos and still learn a lot from the website even without a real money account.

I can see your point, but if that's the case it needs to be clearly stated.

Similar to the way the signup/home page to the academy states "You can gain access to all educational videos instantly by becoming a member."

When in fact some, like "Betting Basics" by Howard Lederer is NOT available instantly, in fact you can't view it at ALL until you're a silver access member, and you can't BECOME a silver access member without taking challenges that REQUIRE a cash account, therefore I MUST deposit cash in order to view the video.

This is false advertising, plain and simple.

I am being patient. I didn't remark about how the courses page hasn't been fixed yet.

I'm remarking about the fact that it is said that "all videos" may be "instantly" accessed simply by signing up for the Academy, which is untrue.

PS - another error - http://academy.fulltiltpoker.com/en/video/play/type/lessons/id/51/ doesn't load properly - it stops at 00:00 in length and cannot be watched at all.

edit - awesome, this ^ is working now Very Happy

Sad

Trying to do the sit n learn for "Sit and Gos by the numbers" but it links to "sizing_up" instead....

edit - thanks, this one is now fixed too. Very Happy Cool

edit 2- ok it's not fixed, but now I understand where the coding error is.

When ANY video lesson is chosen from the lessons page, it loads into a holder that has two links underneath the given video, one that says "Play the Sit n Learn" and one that says "Take the Challenge" -

the issue is that EVERY "Play the Sit n Learn" button on this page, regardless of which video you have loaded, is hard coded to the sizing_up sit n learn - likewise the description is hardcoded into that area and not changing dynamically based upon which video is selected.

That stinks, because I ended up having to finish that particular sit n learn once it was started, and I'd never actually seen the corresponding lesson. Confused

Have you been to the store yet?

You will have a ball with that page.

I have not. I'm sure it's the webmaster in me that just can't handle coding errors, particularly on a site even larger than the ones I tend to.

Quite frustrating, but hopefully the powers that be of Full Tilt realize I'm trying to be helpful by pointing out these errors so that they can be fixed before someone with more attitude than me REALLY raises a stink! Wink

The search window in the poker academy doesn't work for me. Is it me or the site?
