In "Math made easy" Andy Bloch explains pot-calculating.
I wonder if you have to take the rake into the equision. In big games it takes sometimes 20% of the pot away. |

You don't need to factor it in to your calculation if rake is a percentage, because
(1-Rake Percentage) * (Cost of Call) / [ (1-Rake Percentage) * (Cost of Call) + (1-Rake Percentage) * (Pot Size) ] = (Cost of Call) / [ (Cost of Call) + (Pot Size) ] |

| edit: wrote something wrong here. I always thought rake came from the pot at the end, but turns out everyone pays it? Hence why it doesn't come up in pot odds calculations. |

| Without having viewed the lesson, I'll chance a guess: Because it wouldn't be a part of your winnings? |

But it decreases your potential win, therefore it is part of your winnings. |
