Many of you know or know of Jaconda78. She was a great cardplayer, person and the first moderator on this forum. She passed away sometime Sept. 8/9. You can read about it here: http://blogs.cardrunners.com/brystmar/that-wasnt-the-answer-jaconda78

I'm going to keep this note simple but if anyone wants to express thoughts and/or feelings this is the thread for it.

Also, we're going to be putting together a charity tournament in her honor. I'm not sure of the details yet but it is being worked out. I'll keep you all posted.

I will miss her rudeness and cuteness all together and I am really sad we won't end up meeting in amsterdam next year, as we had planned.

A few random facts about Jaconda I learned by Googling her.

1. She was a good poker player, playing in the WSOP and PCA.

2. She's 47th on the Big Double HOF (she won $7,670.34 on Feb 23rd of this year)

3. She was our first forum pro (1000 posts)

4. She was quite attractive. (Btw, if this is the wrong picture please let me know and I'll take it down. I got this from a tribute thread on LiquidPoker.)

I was not a big fan of Jaconda78 while she was a mod here, and he wasn't a big fan of me, either Smile

. Still, I thank her for contributing to the success of this forum. She was an original mod, had over 4000 posts, and obviously knew what he was talking about poker-wise. So, kudos to Aniuta for all she did here.

Btw, is Aniuta pronounced 'Anita'?

Well, this certainly isn't good. I liked Jaconda, but then again I was not here all that often back then. You will be missed though.

Wow, this is pretty much a kick in the gut. Getting to know her over AIM a little, I liked her quite a bit. She will be missed. Rest in peace my dear.

The woman I love died on September 8th. I am grateful for the four years I had with her, and for her making me a better man. She was smart, kind, fun, and beautiful. If you knew her, please remember the great times we had.

Such sad news.

She was the most recognizeable poster when I first joined the forum. I had always wondered how far she ended up progressing in the poker world, but it's unfortunate that additional background and updates had to come due to this.
