The title of the post pretty much says it all, but I wanted to get the opinion of better players than I |

| im new to limit but rememebr you need 8:1 on your call for it to be profitable. so against agressive opponents who always go to show down with trash it will def be profitable against tag players maybe not so, its all situational |

| Post some hands you are unsure about. That question is way to vague to be answered properly. |

I don't have a specific example of play for this question, it was more of a general principle thing. I did not know about the 8:1 odds required, though, so that should dampen the enthusiasm a bit :p
Thanks |

Zavatar,
Bom Dia. Yes it is situational. Most times with small pairs you want to see a flop for 1 bet, so small pairs usually play better from late position when a few players have already limped in. That said, if you are at a passive table, have a couple of opponents who can't let go of top pair, and are disciplined enough to get away when you miss the flop (which will be most of the time), then you can try to mix in some set mining with middle and smaller pairs from early position.

| Also I would need some reads on post flop tendencies. Playing PP can be right even with out the immediate odds if there are implied odds. |

Just like in No Limit, you need to Be The Raiser, that way you aren't JUST hoping to flop a set, you can also cont.bet a flop of no-paint whether you hit it or not and (presuming you already have established your quasi-maniac "can be raising with almost any two cards" image) your opponents will fold their 2 overcards thinking you MIGHT have a set or at least a pair (thus they are 25% to win vs. your 75%)
Call me an optimist, but the last few sessions playing the super-loose live $3/6 LHE game at my local casino, I decided to start RAISING my speculative hands >>> when in HJ/CO/Btn, *if* limped to me <<< and I found that within a half hour or so I appeared so crazy that I get paid off when I hit flops HARD but ALSO (paradoxically, in a way) I get a TON of folds from all those tight-weak AND LOOSE-WEAK players when they miss the flop because they think they are gonna "trap" me, the maniac, so they call my raises really loosely hoping to hit a monster flop vs. my "bluffs", but of course miss like 80% of the time (i.e. they might even fold MIDDLE pair since I might actually "have it" this time).
So I'm an optimist, but with very good results (10PTBB/hour over 12+ hours -- not a big enough sample, obv. but a huge difference from my old way of "investing the minimum, then folding when I miss"). |
