I'm relatively new to poker and have a question:
I've noticed that, sometimes, when a player goes all in and then doesn't win the hand they get most or at the very least part of their original bet back and can continue playing.
Why's this? How do they get chips back when they didn't win?
Thanks. |

hi and welcome.
<3 your musictaste
a player gets a part of the pot back if he doesn't win the showdown, if he had more money in the pot than the opponent.
(opponent can only double up against 1 guy, he can never get all the villians chips if villian had more) |
