for raising to be +EV, hero must have greater than 25% equity in a 4 way pot.

against 3 opponents with an avg VP$IP of 35%, 5-5 has ~25.25% equity in the pot.

when the 3 opponents avg VP$IP is 30.2%, 5-5 has ~24.9% equity.

at 31.1% VP$IP, 5-5 has ~25%.

therefore we can conclude that raising from the BB in a 4 way limped pot is +EV when our opponents avg VP$IP > 31.1%.

That's our immediate odds, but does our implied odds change this in anyway?

i'm sure it does, but implied odds are less in limit than in no limit. that and you can't really calculate them accurately. i think the immediate odds are a good guideline.

We can reduce VP$IP>x a significant amount by taking implied odds into the equation fwiw. I'm too sick to do the math now, but I'd estimate it can be as low as >28%, which makes raising even more profitable at these stakes.
