Why don't they play the Super Bowl in June?

it's too hot outside.
that and lotsa folks don't watch TV during the summer.

They've got these things called domes where a lot of Super Bowls are played.

this would add Lambeau Field in Green Bay ,Soldier Field in Chicago or South Bend, Ind. as viable options, depending on humidity issues. Even Happy Valley, where Penn State plays [wtf, it seats damn near 100k].
Still, they get the 1 week off after the NFC/AFC championships. And what I said about summer viewing audiences.

Due to strict Nevada statutes, no WSOP final table of any kind has ever been broadcast live.

It's feasible as being the next major change in the WSOP being live FT's.
The FT's would be played @ Commerce in southern CA, with less restictive laws. They've already dealt tradition a severe blow anywayz.
The Penn and Teller Theater had yet to be conceived when the 1st WSOP
had its humble beginning, amongst about 40-50 individuals, mostly
Texans. Hell, we have nitecrawler tourneys on Stars, and WFG's on tilt, with that many folks now. Very Happy

So the pay-per-views of the Final Tables of the 2006 & 2007 of the Main Event were not "live"?

That makes me think. Why don't we have our own forum fantasy series? This could consist of a month of appointed cash games and the MOPS. Lets say 1 cash game a week for two weeks of whatever a majority vote decides to play. Then the MOPS and then two more weeks of 1 cash game a week.
Players of this series can put some money ($5-$10-$20?) in a pool and top three players with the most points(whoever has the most profit) wins the pool (payout: 1st-50%, 2nd-30%, 3rd-20%).
The ones who can't play but want to pick can win small prizes. Lets say top place gets $5 (just grab a fiver from the rake of the highest stakes table. I'm sure Guy Laliberte or Ivey ain't gonna miss it nor is FTP themselves), 2nd maybe gets a t-shirt, 3rd a hat.
I'll play if its after the WSOP FR's and depending how I do in them. If not then I'll pick and rail any of the players if they want supporters.

Oh, man - it's an ultimate droolfest for me this year:

I am in charge of the PokerRoad league of this year's Fantasy Poker series. We're giving away $250 to the top 15 finishers.

dl_,

Just follow the link provided and do what the instructions say and look for the password to be released via the newsletter. It's easy to get in on this. And the payoff is better than last year's forum pool.

I would go ahead and sign up for the newsletter now than later.

Hehe, gadzooks64 said she was "so in this" and I am curious if that poker slut tells another poker slut who will pass it along to DTM.

feihua-
any rough idea as to th entry fee for the pokerroad pool?
i might consider this.

also, I thought PS's pros had non-exclusive access like pearljammed, etc. .
Hell, Durr and David Benyamine come over 2 stars 2 play TD.
Even PH has an acct. @ PS [but he can't use his doomswitch there, obv.,
so he only shows up sometimes for major tourneys.
I understand the PAD exclusion [all the ads are Full Tilt] but why the hell are they gonna trip if Barry makes a trivial sidebet in a fantasy pool?
The majority of these contracts, because of UIGEA, are unenforceable in the US. A lot of them are UNWRITTEN handshake deals, rumor has it.
Having been staked for 4.00 worth of dimers myself in the past,
I understand Barry's dilemma.

It's not a pool.

Spike, read my announcement again......you don't have to pay anything to enter. No pool. I already have the $250 and will be paying it out to the top 15 finishers.

Just follow the directions I gave above and you are squared away.

Oh, you did read it. That was just a joke from me. I will give you one guess where the prize pool came from.
