I have a tough desicion now, i can take a shot at 50nl with 26 buyins or cash out and still be comfortably rolled for 25nl, i need the money for irl stuff, but i want to know what to expect at 50nl compared to 25nl, ie. would i be better to play some 50nl and then cash out?
Or is it a lot harder?
But then i'd be like, should i take shots at 100nl - and if this is a lot harder than 50nl, but 50nl isnt much different from 25nl, then that would also be an argument for leaving it in a little longer?
Thoughts on everything i've said please people? |

You give me advice and I'll give you advice.
My advice...how the hell did you go from 5nl to almost 50nl so quickly?!? It's like you're uber god or something, except without jesus sandals and a big bushy beard.
Personally I say withdraw some of it if you need it for real life stuff. I'm in the same boat as you, a currently unemployed college kid, and so I know how hard money is to come by. However, this way you will be able to hone your skills more at 25nl. Also, you can build up an even bigger BR so that the next time you come to the brink of 50nl, you will be confident in your skills and feel more comfortable than now. |

| I never noticed much of a difference between 25NL and 50NL (edit: this was about a year ago, not sure how much different the games are nowadays). I saw a pretty big difference between 50NL and 100NL at the time though. 26 BIs is fine to take shots at 50NL, but whether or not you want to cash out or use it to move up is a complete personal preference. |

| 50nl skill wise didn't seem like a HUGE difference. It's more of a difference in how you have to exploit the bad players. There are more regs and 3betting like moshiach says, but the skill difference didn't seem that huge. If you NEED the money, withdrawal and play where you're comfortable. If you just want the money out for some luxury item, then keep it in and take a shot. |

Im currently having the exact same dilemma (student - no job, as said) and im thinkin about movin up...
I have tried 50nl and as said, the skille difference isnt that big, but people are sometimes alot tighter. I think its a matter of picking the right tables -I did that yesterday; I told a guy after he went all in on a flush draw, that he was never gonna win, playing against the odds, to which he replied, "I know, but i enjoy it very much".
Point is; the donks and fish that you want to have at you table - still there at 50nl
May i advice the capgames. There is a lot of players playing over their BR, which makes them go desperat for big showdown pots - they almost never let go with just toppair.
Im sticking to 25 for a little bit longer tho... |
