I saw these two hands during a single, 6-max session. There were two people doing the commentary... DeathDonkey and Oink.
Hand #1 (4-handed):
CO: Folds
Villain (Button): Raises to $100
SB: Folds
Oink (BB): Calls $50 with 9 4
Flop: A J J
Oink checks
Villain bets $50
Oink raises to $100
Villain raises to $150
Oink calls <-- During the video, DD said "I really don't hate a cap."
Turn: 3
Oink checks <-- I'm just firing out here... get value from an ace, jack or higher diamond draw, but Oink got greedy and was hoping to check raise.
Villain checks
River: 4
Oink checks <-- Wtf... really?
Villain checks back w/ K T
The following hand occured about an hour later in the session at a different table ($30/$60).
Hand # 2 (4-handed):
CO: Folds
Button: Folds
Villain (SB): Raises to $60
Oink (BB): Calls $30 with A 4
Flop: A 9 2
Villain bets $30
Oink raises to $60
Villain raises to $90
Oink calls
Turn: 7
Villain bets $60
Oink calls
River: 3
Villain bets $60
Oink calls <-- This is interesting... before calling, Oink said he would have raised a non-heart river. Ok fine, but why would you not raise the turn if you felt your aces were good. He then says (before calling), "When he 3-bets the flop, his range is a good ace, a flush or complete air."
Villain showed K 5 for the flush.
Seems like standard play on each player's part. But after the hand, DD said, "The villain's play made no sense, but is standard for a pretty bad LAG."
Huh? Can someone explaing why raising or possibly capping in Hand #1 with a flush draw is a good play, but doing the same in Hand #2 is a bad play?
Not to mention, I think the check/check in Hand #1 is truly awful. Am I missing something here? |
