Hi all, I am confused between the Sit-n-Learn (quizzes?) and the challenges (tasks on FTP?).

I liked the sound of quizzes, but only seemed to be able to find the so-called 'challenges' on the FTP academy site. I never even knew about either of these until I got an email a day or two ago.

quote: 'Sit-n-Learns are seven-question quizzes in which the Full Tilt Pros provide video hints to guide you toward the right answers.'

What/where are the quizzes and what do i get for doing well in them? (or not lol) Are they independent of the challenges? I am up for trying to qualify for free tourneys etc. but don't have much free time for trying to complete the challenges.

Any explanation of what's available to me would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Gnsh Confused

The "quizes" are tied to the "lessons".
Suposedly you listen to the lesson then take the quiz.
You can take the quiz w/o the lesson but probally wont do well.

Welcome to the forum. You can learn as much here as on the academy and is much more amusing. ----at times

You must take the quizzes in order to qualify for the freerolls. If you rank in the top X (think it is 100 or so) you qualify. Then you have to register for the freerolls when they are posted under Tournaments, Satelittes. The freerolls are on Sat, June 13 starting at 1300 with another one starting every 10 minutes until 1610.

Lu's right about the freerolls - word of advice....you really get very little extra by doing more than 3 or 4 quizzes. There's about 15 freerolls on Saturday to the SAME 5K target tournament on Sunday. Once you win your first ticket, the only reason to keep playing is to keep someone else OUT of the tourney (someone else who may have already won a ticket in a different freeroll anyway.)

And that strategy obviously works! Instead of 2000 people qualified (from the 20 freerolls) for the FTPA $5000 tourney... there are only 516 at last check. This seems to show that many of the same people qualified in a number of the tourneys. Thus... the result was limiting the number of eligible entries for the $5K. With 180 positions paid... this seems to be a sound strategy and limits the field for the money tournament. Or so it seems anyway...

Best of luck to all!
