This is my sixth hand at the table so no real reads on the villain. My main question here is should I have re-raised him on the river, instead of just calling? With his min raise and two checks, I could easily see him on KQ, QJ and a slow played FH. So I was a little cautious on re-raising him and just paying him off. Right, wrong?

Please raise the river. The likelihood that he would play any Q as passively as he did is very remote. A made flush on the river will pay you off.

because i can't think of a single spot where i like open limping in a ring game.
if I am first to act or it is folded to me and i want to play a hand i raise in order to build a nice pot and also to not have to play against a checking BB who doesn't allow me to assign him any meaningful range (apart from the hands he would raise)

Agree with BP. If you open a pot, as cliche as it sounds, raise. Never limp, because then you just get stuck in awkward situations.
And please please raise the river. A Q is so rare here that you have to raise. He could have made his flush, have aces, etc. Missed value bet imo.

Yes but if you get 3 bet by almost anyone you'd have to fold, and I really hate having to fold a pocket pair at this level given the immense implied odds that a set would give us. I like the open limp, OTR unless you got a specific read that he would play a FH as passive as he did and not a hand like trip queens I'm raising for sure, probably with the intention of getting stacks in.

Limping with a low PP is incredibly standard at micros. If you hit your set on the flop, you bet out and take a lot of money from people that hit middle pair or worse and if you miss it and they bet, you can fold it away cheaply. Most micro players can't get away from a hand that hits any part of the flop so because of the limits, it's a reasonable play.

I make an over sized 3-bet over his raise to 50c++ and shoving isn't terrible either. In a higher stakes game I may call against a nit but this is 2NL and his range consists 90% of worse made hands that he thinks is the nuts. Most 2NL players will even look you up with a bare Q here.

I think everything that went through my mind has been stated here.
But I couldn't get a slow played FH off. I am fairly certain with more than six hands at the table, I would have re-raised because I would have seen his style of play. I was going into this hand with zero history and trying to make the best educated guess on what his hand could be. As for how the hand turned out, here you go! And what he turned over, was a tad surprising.

River: ($0.11) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.06, MP2 raises to $0.12, Hero calls $0.06

Total pot: $0.35 | Rake: $0.02

Results:
Hero had 5, 5 (full house, fives over Queens).
MP2 had A, K (two pair, Kings and Queens).
Outcome: Hero won $0.33
