About 5 hands into it. No reads. A 4 bet shove this deep is really bad right? Should I flat and shut down if I miss?

Full Tilt Poker, NL Hold'em Tournament, 15/30 Blinds, 9 Players
-

CO: 2,590
BTN: 2,950
SB: 2,950
BB: 2,600
UTG: 2,795
Hero (UTG+1): 3,055
UTG+2: 3,330
MP1: 3,400
MP2: 3,020

Pre-Flop: (45) KHeart ASpade dealt to Hero (UTG+1)
UTG folds, Hero raises to 90, UTG+2 calls 90, MP1 raises to 405, 5 folds, Hero?

In my opinion, I think a four bet shove is pretty bad. blinds are low, there's not much money in there. I'm thinking you'll either just pick up this smallish pot here OR you're getting called with pp JJ's or better... JJ/ QQ and you're playing for a coin flip soooo early and KK/AA and you're completely dominated and in rough shape.

If you're playing a $1 SNG - I think that would be a whole 'nother story Rolling Eyes

I think I like your idea to flat and shut down if you miss, at this stage.

Since you're out of position, you have no reads and the blinds are so low, I might even fold in the face of this raise, since it's so early. But that might not be the right move either but something I would consider faster than shoving.

i dont like flatting since we are OOP and basically gonna have to give up the pot and the 400 chips if we play this hand and no K or A shows

if we shove i dont like that either cause hands that call us are flipping or kill us

so???? .. .idk??...

If I'm going to 4 bet it I'm willing to call a shove then, I'm never 4 bet folding. Thats why I pretty much narrowed my options down to 4 bet shove or flat.

I think if you can't shove profitably here you should probably be folding. I'd definitely shove though.

Would probably just call here, if not fold. Smells like a high pocket pair and just fishing for AK's/AQ's/etc.

shoving is pretty borderline imo. and since, if you flat, the pot is very inflated, odds are stacks are going in. As such it's kind of a multi step shove. And if I am not comfortable with a shove pre, I probably just fold it and wait it out. But as i've said before, I play pretty nitty early in MTTs

He isn't folding to a shove so I don't see it being an option imo. Fwiw I don't think i'm ever folding. Too many spaz's this early to allow myself to entertain the thought of that being a good idea. Though you generally don't get 3bet light at this stage of the tournament so we can assume he at least has something. We're deep enough to be ok with losing the additional 300 chips so flat and bink an ace or king otherwise shutdown.

Think I'd lean towards a fold here, since it's so early and you have no reads on anyone, you could just bump into aces and boom your 26$ are gone. I'd wait for a better spot.

LO's opinion

Riddim's right, if you can't profitably get it in here it's a fold. But there's no way a random in a $26 mtt has a 3bet range that makes shipping AK unprofitable. Get it in every time here as you'll be called by AT+ and occasional random face cards, plus you'll also fold out a lot of PPs.
I'd need a good read to NOT get it in pre with AK in a ssmtt
so against an unknown, I ship and fist pump.

i just gave villan 2 much cred Smile
